[EGE-TSXV] revealed the latest results from pits 3 and 4 at its Brazilian Bomfim Hill property on December 10, with 15.42% phospate (P2O5) recorded over 5 metres and 23% P2O5 over 1.5 metres. On December 11, Eagle Star announced it had acquired exploration rights to an additional 59,654 hectares close to Bomfim. Estrella Gold Corp. [EST-TSXV] holds 23 exploratory properties in Peru, with 14 held in joint venture agreements primarily with Cliffs Natural Resources Exploration, a subsidiary of Cliffs Natural Resources [CLF-NYSE, Paris]. On December 4, an earnin agreement was unveiled through which Cliffs can obtain a 50% stake in Estrella's Yanac property. A further 20% can be secured once conditions of the initial earn-in agreement are met. Goldcorp Inc. [G-TSX; GG-NYSE] reported in its Q3 results that progress at its El Morro Project in Chile has faced permitting issues since April 2012. Meanwhile, construction and development work at the Cerro Negro Project in Argentina continues, with first gold production at the project expected in late 2013. South of Cerro Negro, at the La Esperanza Project, drilling work was reportedly ready to begin. Goldcorp also holds a 37.5% stake in the Alumbrera Mine, Argentina, which produced 40,500 ounces gold and 31.2 million lbs of copper in Q3 2012. Hunt Mining Corp. [HMX-TSXV] is exploring several properties in Santa Cruz province, Argentina, with focus on the La Josefina gold-silver project. On December 6, the company reported it had secured an extra 328 km2 of land contiguous to the west of La Josefina and extended its exploration and development rights for the project until 2019. IAMGold Ltd. [IMG-TSX; IAG-NYSE] announced on November 26 that it had signed a deal with Suriname's government to amend a mineral agreement relating to its Rosebel gold mine. Details will be fully unveiled once the agreement has been reviewed by Suriname's national assembly. Production at Rosebel stood at 95,000 ounces gold in Q3 2012. february 2013 www.resourceworld.com 13
