[LAT-TSXV; LATNF-OTCQX] celebrated delivery of its first gold doré bar from its Independencia Mine pilot operation on August 29. Paraguay-located Independencia lies within the discovery zone of the Paso Yobai gold project. Exploration work at the property also continues. Lithium Americas Corp. [LAC-TSX] received final approval for the construction of its Argentina-located Cauchari-Olaroz lithium-potash project from the regional Jujuy government on December 12. The project has proven reserves of 37,000 tonnes lithium; 197,000 tonnes lithium carbonate; 302,000 tonnes potassium; and 576,000 tonnes potash. Macusani Yellowcake Inc. [YELTSXV] continues to advance its Kihitian, Colibri 2 & 3, and Corachapi properties in south-eastern Peru. On December 10, the company reported further details of its latest drill campaign on the Quebrada Blanca anomaly at Kihitian. Highlights included hole PT-QB44-TV, which interested 1.85 lbs U3O8 per ton from 9-30 metres. Magellan Minerals Ltd. [MNMTSXV-MAGNF-OTCQX] released a PEA on November 1 for its Coringa gold project in northern Brazil. An output of 50,885 ounces gold per year is estimated. Effective May 2012, measured and indicated resources comprise 561,000 ounces gold. On November 14, the company also announced that diamond drilling had started at its Cuiu Cuiu gold project. Mirasol Resources Ltd. [MRZ-TSXV; M8R-FSE] has a suite of precious metals prospects in southern Argentina. It also holds the Rubi copper-gold target in northern Chile. On December 21, the company announced it had completed the sale of its 49% stake in its Joaquin silver-gold project in Argentina to Coeur d'Alene Mines Corp. [CDM-TSX; CDE-NYSE] for a total consideration of $60 million. Coeur d'Alene now wholly-owns the property, having already held 51% since 2010. Joaquin contains measured and indicated resources of 38.4 million ounces silver and 16 www.resourceworld.com 39,600 ounces gold. New Destiny Mining Corp. [NEDTSXV] has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Argentina Mining Ltd. [AVK-ASX], its wholly-owned subsidiary and the underlying property owner to purchase an 60% interest in seven exploration concessions known as the Cerro Blanco Property (~12,830 hectares). New Destiny also has an option to acquire an undivided 100% of the Tres Amigos property. Both properties are in the San Juan Province, Argentina. Pan American Silver Corp. [PAATSX; PAA-NASDAQ] has operations in Peru, Bolivia and Argentina. For Q3, the Morococha Mine in Peru produced 500,000 ounces silver and the Huaron Mine in Peru 700,000 ounces silver. The San Vicente Mine in Bolivia produced 1 million ounces silver, while the Manantial Espejo Mine in Argentina recorded 900,000 ounces silver. Consolidated gold production for South America stood at 28,162 ounces; zinc and lead at 8,502 and 2,671 tonnes, respectively; and copper at 1,009 tonnes. Panoro Minerals Ltd. [PML-TSXV; Lima; PZM-FSE] reported additional results from its flagship Cotabambas copper-gold-silver project in southern Peru on December 11. Highlights include hole CB-86's intersection of 1.55% copper, 0.57 g/t gold and 7 g/t silver from 11.4- 71.4 metres and a second interval of 0.77% copper, 0.51 g/t gold and 6 g/t silver from 158.6-313.5 metres. Polar Star Mining Corp. [PSR-TSX] announced a new chairman and a new CEO on October 29. The company's Chépica gold-silver-copper mine in Chile achieved just over $450,000 in revenue for the month to October 12. About 4,500 tonnes of ore was processed. Proceeds from Chépica are reinvested into developing the Montezuma copper-gold project in northern Chile. The company also has a joint-venture agreement with BHP Billiton, which can earn a 75% interest in five blocks of Polar Star's explorative land totalling 172,800 hectares. Red Eagle Mining Corp.
