Teck Resources Ltd. [TECK.B-TSX; TECK-NYSE] owns and operates the Highland Valley open pit copper-molyb- denum mine located 50 km southwest of Kamloops. The 145,000 tonne-per day- operation began in 1986 and is expected to continue until 2026. During 2017, the mine produced 92,800 tonnes of copper concentrate and 9.3 million tonnes moly. At December 31, 2017, proven and prob- able reserves were 589.5 million tonnes averaging 0.30% copper and 0.007% molybdenum, for 1.54 million tonnes of copper and 20,000 tonnes of moly. Unity Metals Corp. [UTY-TSXV] is exploring for gold on trend from the past-producing Doratha Morton and Alexandria mines in the Phillips Arm gold camp northeast of Campbell River. Pending permit approval, Unity has planned a 30-hole, 3,000-metre drilling program. The camp was known for very high gold grades. Westhaven Ventures Inc. [WHN-TSXV; WTHVF-OTC] reported further drill results from its ongoing drill campaign at its Shovelnose gold property within the prospective Spences Bridge Gold Belt (SBGB), which borders the Coquihalla Highway 30 km south of Merritt, southern British Columbia. Highlights include: Drill hole SN19-01: • (154.34-167.00 m) 12.66 metres (m) of 39.31 g/t gold (Au) and 133.11 g/t silver (Ag). • (89.00-92.00 m) 3.00 m of 4.65 g/t Au and 10.86 g/t Ag. • (95.20-154.34 m) 59.14 m of 0.43 g/t Au and 2.79 g/t Ag. • (167.00- 177.00 m) 10.00 m of 2.26 g/t Au and 15.13 g/t Ag. Westhaven owns a 100% interest in four properties covering over 35,000 hect - ares within the prospective Spences Bridge Gold Belt. See Sable Resources entry for alliance details. Ximen Mining Corp. [XIM-TSXV; XXMMF-OTCQB; 1XM-FSE] has received a multi-year work permit for its 100%-optioned Treasure Mountain sil - ver base metal-precious metal property, located 27 km northeast of Hope. The per- mit allows for up to 11 drill pads and up to 10 trench/test pit sites in the east-north- east regions of the property. Company reported historic highlights for the Treasure Mountain silver property include 11.3 and 8.81 g/t gold in grab sam- ples from the east and northeast regions of the property. The Treasure Mountain silver property partially surrounds the Treasure Mountain property of Nicola Mining Inc. In late February, the company reported that drill hole #1 intersected the Main Lode structure from 43.45 metres to the end of the hole at 61.87 metres. Assays are pending. n
