Meanwhile, Altamira, under the guid- ance of exploration veteran and mining geologist, Michael Bennett, President and CEO, has been active on its more advanced Cajueiro Project where the company has completed 14,367 metres of drilling in 105 holes as well as 2,878 metres of trenching. In addition, soil sampling has identified numerous gold anomalies of which four have only been partially drill tested. There are 14 untested gold-in-soil anomalies at Cajueiro – so many that the company must prioritize them. In addition, three new, high-grade zones have been discovered at the Baldo East target that returned 6 metres grading 21 g/t gold, 7 metres of 5.53 g/t gold and 2 metres of 8.30 g/t gold. Last October, Altamira reported the discovery of an easterly extension to the Baldo 2 structure and two new previ - ously unmapped high-grade, gold-bearing structures south of the Baldo target on the northern flank of the Matrincha target. In an interview, Bennett said that the company has received a trial mining per - mit that will be useful for bulk sampling and metallurgical testing using a small mill. Resource estimates have been prepared for the Cajueiro Project. NI 43-101 compli - ant resources stand at 8.64 million tonnes grading 0.78 g/t gold (for 214,000 oz) in the indicated category and 9.53 million tonnes of 0.66 g/t gold (for 204,000 oz) inferred. There is an additional 1.37 million tonnes of 1.61 g/t gold in oxides (for 79,000 oz in saprolite) in the inferred category. Copper values have been identified at the St. Helena property. Results have been returned on 49 grab samples from four areas with assays values ranging up to 171.6 g/t gold and up to 0.81% copper. In another development, Altamira was granted a two-year extension to the Porta Aberta claim block 13 km south-southwest of its Cajueiro Project. Recent reconnais - sance work by Altamira suggests the presence of a series of high-grade veins with gold values ranging from 5 to 242.8 g/t gold from a total of 12 surface rock samples taken within a north-northwest trending shear zone over ~2.5 km. It was not necessary to build an explo - ration camp as employees are able to live on nearby ranches. There is an extensive network of power lines and roads as well as a hydro project under construction near Cajueiro with potential for power within one to two years. There are daily flights to Alta Floresta on Azul Airlines with con - nections to Sao Paolo. Bennett told Resource World, the com- pany has been in discussions during 2018 with majors with regards to advancing its Brazilian projects. n Trenching at the Cajueiro property, Brazil.
