46 www.resourceworld.com J U N E / J U L Y 2 0 1 9 Vagar, Tartoq. The Nalunaq Project, Greenland's only past-producing gold mine, is owned by Nalunaq A/S, which is wholly owned by AEX Gold Inc. The company is focused on restarting production at the Nalunaq Mine which produced over 350,000 ounces averaging 15 g/t gold between 2004 and 2009. The mine has an exploitation licence and AEX wants to fast-track development for first production in 2021. The 2018 summer program was designed to further test down-dip exten - sions of South Block and to infill historic drilling. All elements of the program were successful, with 18 boreholes drilled at Nalunaq. Results improve confidence in the potential of an area down-dip of South Block. Highlights include 0.55 metres grading 46.0 g/t gold. OTHER GREENLAND MINERAL PROJECTS FBC (BA) Mining Ltd. is exploring the past-producing Maarmorilik zinc-lead mine in western Greenland. There is an existing exploitation licence and surround- ing exploration licence. The exploration license is owned by FBC Mining (BA) Ltd., whereas the exploitation license is owned by Black Angel Mining A/S (a subsidiary of FBC Mining (BA) Ltd.) Ironbark Zinc Ltd. [IBG-ASX] is the world's most northerly zinc project. The development-stage Citronen Fjord hosts 70.8 Mt at 5.7% zinc+lead. Construction financing activities are in progress. Tanbreez Mining Greenland, a private Australian company has been exploring the Kringlerne rare earth element project in southern Greenland. This is perhaps the world's largest deposit with 4.7 billion tons of 1.8% ZrO 2 (zircon), 0.6% Rare Earth Oxides, 0.2% Nb 2 O 5 (niobium), and 0.03% of both Ta 2 O 5 /HFO 2 (tantalum/hafnium). Extensive bulk tests have been completed. Bluejay Mining Plc [JAY-LSE] is advancing the Dundas ilmenite proj- ect in northwest Greenland which has a JORC-compliant resource of 96 Mt of 6.9% ilmenite with excellent expansion potential. A pre-feasibility study is underway. Bluejay also has the Disko-Nuussuaq mas - sive sulphide nickel-copper-platinum project and the Kangerluarsuk lead-zinc- silver project. Alba Minerals Plc [ALBA-LONDON AIM] and its subsidiaries have several projects in Greenland, including the Amitsoq graphite project, the Thule Black Sands Project and the Inglefield Project (gold/cobalt/copper).
