The indicated resources contain 2.45 billion lbs V2O5. In 2011, the company was permitted for a 45,000-tonne bulk sample pit at the south end of its Rambling Creek block, from which 11,000 tonnes of ore was extracted in Q1 2011. The company has subsequently been conducting tests on this material at pilot plant facilities and ancillary labs. It aims to conduct further pilot work in Q1 2013, focusing on the V2O5 concentration of iron-segregated tails. Following the pilot and product development phase, Ironstone will build a demonstration pilot plant at Clear Hills to help with determining final operational parameters and production scale. VanSpar Mining, a subsidiary of Sparton Resources Inc. [SRI-TSXV] has identified two vanadium projects in Xiushui county Jiangxi Province, China: the Rentian Project and the Dong Du Project. In March 2012, the company announced that VanSpar had completed a metallurgical test program on sample material taken from the carbonaceous shale-hosted vanadium prospects. The samples graded around 0.9% V2O5, with average recoveries at about 78%. The tests then produced material containing 98.599.3% V2O5. West Melville Metals Inc. [WMMTSXV] is developing the Isortoq iron-titanium-vanadium project on the south coast of Greenland. On January 14, the company unveiled an initial NI 43-101 resource estimate for the project based on 14 www.resourceworld.com its first drill program. With a 15% Fe cutoff, inferred resources stand at 70.3 million tonnes, grading 29.6% Fe; 10.9% titanium oxide (TiO2); and 0.144% V2O5. The company is keen to continue explorative drilling, aiming to increase the resource further. INDIUM Adex Mining Inc. [ADE-TSXV] holds the Mount Pleasant former mine and polymetallic property in Charlotte County, southwestern New Brunswick, Canada. The North Zone contains a NI 43-101-compliant resource estimate of 12.4 million tonnes, grading an average of 0.38% tin, 0.86% zinc, and 64 ppm indium. Inferred resources stand at 2.8 million tonnes, averaging 0.30% tin, 1.13% zinc, and 70 ppm indium. However, the companys current focus is to bring the propertys Fire Tower Zone on stream. This includes an indicated resource of almost 13.5 million tonnes at 0.33% WO3 (tungsten trioxide) and 0.21% MoS2 (molybdenum disulfide), as well as an inferred resource of just below 841,700 tonnes at 0.26% WO3 and 0.20% MoS2. Lithic Resources Ltd. [LTH-TSXV] is advancing the West Desert polymetallic project around 160 km southwest of Salt Lake City, Utah. Effective November 2009, indium resources in the sulphide category stood at 283,100 kg indicated and 516,400 kg inferred; in the oxide category, indium resources were 11,500 kg indicated and 58,300 kg inferred. On January 21, the company announced that it has retained Mine Development Associates to formu- late a new PEA. Lithics 2010 PEA focused solely on the underground mining potential of the sulphide resources; the new PEA will consider further opportunities identified by the company, including the potential for open-pit mining of near-surface oxide resources. Marifil Mines Ltd. [MFM-TSXV] and joint venture partner NovaGold Resources Inc. [NG-TSX, NYSE] hold the San Roque property near the south Atlantic coast in the Rio Negro province, Argentina. The property covers a gold-silver-lead-zincindium mineral deposit, with the 33 Zone covering an area about 300 metres by 900 metres that is open-ended in every direction, including at depth. Next to this mineralization, a strong induced polarization anomaly has been charted. A step out drill hole, DDHMSR-033, intercepted 0.85 g/t gold, 9.15 g/t silver, 2.67 g/t indium, 0.31% lead and 0.63% zinc over 81 metres. South American Silver Corp. [SACTSX; SOHAF-OTCQX] suffered the expropriation of its Malku Khota silverindium-gallium project by the Bolivian government in August 2012. The company is likely to seek compensation through international arbitration once a mandatory cooling-off period expires in April. Malku Khota has NI 43-101-compliant indicated resource of 230.3 million oz silver and 1,481 tonnes of indium, and an inferred resource of 140 million oz silver and 935 tonnes indium. The company is now seeking to advance its Escalones copper project in Chile. n MARCH 2013
