Below are profiles of various Québec mines and exploration projects. Agnico-Eagle Mines Ltd. [AEM-TSX, NYSE] has a 50% interest in the Canadian Malartic gold mine (Yamana Gold Inc. [YRI-TSX; AUY-NYSE], 50%) 25 km west of Val d'Or. For 2018, Agnico Eagle's 50% share of production was 348,600 oz gold and 437,000 oz silver. Agnico also owns the La Ronde gold- silver-copper-zinc mine 60 km west of Val d'Or. For 2018, production was 343,686 oz gold, 1.0 million oz silver, 7,864 tonnes zinc and 4,193 tonnes copper. The under - ground LaRonde Zone 5 Mine on the Bousquet property is immediately west of the LaRonde mine complex. It achieved commercial production on June 1, 2018 and produced 18,620 oz gold last year. In Val d'Or, Agnico's Goldex gold mine pro - duced 21,167 oz gold in 2018. Agnico Eagle and Chantrell Ventures Corp. [CV.H-TSXV] have been separately bidding to acquire all the outstanding shares of Alexandria Minerals Corp. [AZX-TSXV; ALXDF-OTCQB; FSE]. Arianne Phosphate Inc. [DAN-TSXV; DRRSF-OTC; JE9N-FSE] is developing the large, 100%-owned Lac à Paul phos - phate project located about 200 km north Exploration and Mining in Québec by Ellsworth Dickson MINING AND MINERAL EXPLO- RATION IN QUÉBEC CONTINUE TO PLAY A MAJOR ROLE IN THE ECONOMY OF LA BELLE PROVINCE, ONE OF THE WORLD'S MOST ATTRACTIVE JURISDICTIONS FOR MINING.
