operated by a subsidiary of Union Carbide Corp., from 1962-1968. The manganese mineralization is hosted in a 15 km-long series of nine hills called the Matthews Ridge Formation, while the strike length is known to extend for more than 40 km. On February 21, Reunion announced an initial resource estimate; with an 8% Mn cut-off grade total unconstrained measured and indicated resources at 32.4 million tonnes, grading 14% Mn. MAGNESIUM – Mg Magnesium is gaining increasing cache as a lightweight metal for utilization in vehicle and aircraft components, helping lower weight ratios and, in turn, fuel consumption. It also has increased appeal as an alloying agent with steel and aluminium. Gossan Resources Ltd. [GSS-TSXV] is advancing the Inwood magnesium property in south-central Manitoba. In 2006, the company unveiled a NI 43-101-compliant measured resource of just over 28.9 million tonnes, with a weight percentage of 21.15% magnesium oxide and 30.91% calcium oxide. The company retains rights to the Zuliani magnesium production process, which is designed to lower operating costs through the reduction of energy and key raw material requirements. To prove the technology, Gossan is undertaking a four-stage evaluation process and is currently in stage three. Nevada Clean Magnesium Inc. [NVMTSXV; M1V-FSE] changed its name from Molycor Gold Corp. in April 2012. The company is developing its wholly-owned Tami–Mosi magnesium project close to Ely, Nevada. The project has a NI 43-101 compliant inferred resource of 412 million tonnes dolomite, grading 12.58% for 111 billion lbs (50.35 million tonnes) magnesium contained. A preliminary economic assessment was completed in September 2011 and outlined a 30,000-tonne per year (tpy) operation capable of producing 99.9% pure magnesium ingot over a 30-year period. West High Yield Resources Ltd. [WHYTSXV] holds the Record Ridge South magnesium property, 7.5 km southwest of Rossland, British Columbia. Using a 12% 20 www.resourceworld.com APRIL 2013
