Gran Colombia Gold Corp. [GCM-TSX; TPRFF-OTCQX] is focused on Colombia, where it is the largest underground gold and silver producer in the country, with several underground mines in operation at its Segovia and Marmato operations. The majority of the company's produc- tion comes from the Segovia Operations, located in the Segovia-Remedios mining district in Antioquia, roughly 180 km east of Medellin. Segovia is expected to pro- duce 201,000 to 214,000 ounces of gold in 2019. The company recently said it is on track to meet its 2019 production guid- ance of between 250,000 and 240,000 ounces of gold. That figure includes from the Marmato assets which are being spun out into a new publicly listed vehicle, Bluenose Gold Corp. [TSXV-BN.H]. Irving Resources Inc. [IRV-CSE] has encountered significant gold-silver miner- alization while drilling on its 100%-owned Omu gold project in Japan. Through a sub- sidiary, Irving also holds a joint venture agreement with Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corp. (JOGMEC) for regional exploration programs in Malawi. In Japan, Irving is focused on identi- fying high-silica, high-grade epithermal gold-silver veins that could potentially be suitable for use as smelter flux in many operating base metal smelters throughout the country. Precious metals are recovered during the smelting and refining process. As noted by Resource World Magazine, lode gold mining in Japan dates back to 1370 and continued until 1980 with spo- radic production from 76 mines. Japan Gold Corp. [JG-TSXV, JGLDF- OTCQB] has a portfolio of 23 gold projects in Japan which cover areas of known gold occurrences, a history of mining, and are prospective for high-grade epithermal gold mineralization. One of the projects in its portfolio is prospective for gold-rich por- phyry mineralization. The main Japan islands of Kokkaido, Honshu and Kyushu have at least six dis- tinct epithermal gold provinces, hosting greater than 70 historically producing mines, including five +1 million-ounce deposits. Still in production today, the Hiskari Mine on the island of Kyushu is one of the world's highest grade gold mines and has produced in excess of 7.6 million ounces of gold between 1985 and 2018 at average gold grades of 30-40 g/t. Japan Gold's exploration licenses cover at least 42 historic mines and workings. Liberty Gold Corp. [LGD-TSX] is focused on the discovery and advancement of large gold deposits that can be mined profitably in open pit scenarios. It's port- folio of projects are located in the US and Europe. Its flagship projects are Goldstrike in southwest Utah, Black Pine in south- eastern Utah, and Kinsley Mountain in southeast Elko County, Nevada. All three
