New Brunswick's copper, lead, silver zinc and coal mines add to the Maritimes pro- duction numbers. Newfoundland is the largest Maritime producer with cobalt, cop- per, gold, iron, nickel, platinum and silver production worth an estimated $2.8 billion in 2018 according to Statistics Canada. Following is a review of mining compa- nies exploring, developing and producing in the Maritimes. Anaconda Mining Inc. [ANX-TSX; ANXGF-OTCQX] has the Point Rousse gold project in north-central Newfoundland that hosts three deposits (Pine Cove, Stog'er Tight and Argyle). The Pine Cove open pit, in production since 2010, has produced 118,028 oz gold. The company is transitioning from mining at Pine Cove to the Stog'er Tight deposit early 2020. At Anaconda's Tilt Cove exploration gold project, (~45 km by road from the Pine Cove mill) the company is trenching and drilling key exploration targets. Anaconda recently filed a NI 43-101 technical report updating the Resource Estimate for their 100%-owned advanced exploration and development Goldboro gold project in Nova Scotia and has received permits for the extraction of a 10,000-tonne underground bulk sample. On January 17, 2018 Anaconda announced a positive result of an PEA on the Goldboro Project that envisages an underground and open pit mine. Avalon Advanced Materials Inc.
