The universal platform can be used to trans- port a load of up to 3,400 kg and comes with the equipment necessary to secure a load that can be transported safely across rivers or boulders. The Sherp's 74 HP diesel engine is adapted to work in extreme cold and heat providing high torque and fuel efficiency (30 km/h maximum speed). It has a 240- litre fuel tank plus ten 58-litre canisters that provide the driver with the ability to drive more than 82 hours, non-stop, with just the main fuel tank. The fuel system allows for continuous movement in tilted position without the engine stalling from fuel starvation. The patented, tubeless tires are another feature that sets this all terrain vehicle apart. The tires are ultra-low pressure with a unique tread pattern and are made of a combination of rubber and cord. Though they are light and elastic, they are also strong and reliable and adhere well to the ground. The tires are self-inflated using exhaust gases. The company says, "The vehicle is equipped with a unique air-circulation system that uses exhaust gases to inflate or deflate them as required. The tires are con - nected by a pneumatic circuit that allows the driver to adjust the tire pressure to dif- ferent terrains and payloads." Should a tire be punctured, it is possible to shut off the air supply to the damaged tire and safely continue moving forward. An all-wheel control system allows the driver to switch between different driving modes. If necessary, the head unit drive can be turned off. The rear section drive is ideal for moving over difficult terrains. In all-wheel control mode, the torque transmitted to the front and rear sec - tions provides better traction, safety, and handling. The Sherp Ark's intuitive steering wheel control features a 3-axis articulated steering system allowing the driver to go over multi-level obstacles with ease. The head unit of the Ark rises and rotates along 3 axis providing additional climbing capacity for difficult obstacles. The Sherp's unique suspension design does not include springs, shock absorbers or struts making it simple and reliable with fewer breakdowns and lower repair costs. Sherp is an international company with dealers in Africa, Asia, South America, Europe, USA, Canada and Australia. n MININGWORLD The Sherp is a reliable amphibian all-terrain vehicle that can move on any surface and overcome difficult natural obstacles.
