The company estimates gross metal value of low-grade printed circuit boards to be approximately US $3,500 per ton. "EnviroLeach expects to ramp up its EnviroCircuit facility over the next two calendar quarters towards full scale opera - tions in Q3," noted Leikam. "The facility has a capacity to process close to 7,200 tonnes of printed circuit boards annually. Once the EnviroCircuit facility reaches capacity operations, the company plans to commence a five-year expansion strategy that would see five new 12,000 tonne per year plants built in logistically strategic locations throughout North America. The roll out is expected to capture 10% mar - ket share of the end of life printed circuit board market. "To add future value, EnviroLeach is continuing the development of further applications in its technology pipeline including the recovery of tin from printed circuit boards." On the mining side, the company is aware of mine operators being under pres - sure for environmental change for the better considering that 66,000 tonnes of cyanide is used annually in mining and 1,400 tonnes of mercury. To this end, EnviroLeach recently recovered gold from concentrate in Golden Predator Mining's Secondary Recovery Unit (SRU) at its Yukon test processing plant. The ore originated from Golden Predator's 3 Aces Project in the Yukon (which has just been acquired by Seabridge Gold). Eleven test batches totaling approxi - mately 2 tonnes of the previously announced 5-tonne test sample resulted in 93.17% recovery of contained gold yield - ing 132.23 ounces of gold doré. Recoveries improved as the tests advanced with the final five test batches yielding 96.8% recovery of gold. Janet Lee-Sheriff, CEO of Golden Predator, said in a press release, "These highly gratifying results confirm that processing and recovering environmen - tally friendly gold from high grade sulfide concentrate can be achieved with greater efficiency than cyanide, with far less envi- ronmental risk and far fewer regulatory requirements." Leikam commented, "As a result of these successes, the company has received many new inquiries from the industry and several test programs have recently been initiated." EnviroLeach recently signed a joint venture initiative called Group 11 Technologies. "While still in the forma - tive stages, this joint venture is designed to combine EnviroLeach's technology with an intimate understanding of in-situ leach - ing for uranium extraction that its partners contribute to offer industry a gold extrac- tion process termed 'In situ Recovery' or ISR," said Leikam. He explained that ISR application under the operation of the Group 11 joint venture will focus on non-invasive gold production in jurisdictions where permitting for con- ventional gold mining would be difficult (particularly where cyanide permits), in environmentally sensitive areas, to mon- etize known deposits that may not reach the minimum resource benchmark for eco- nomic feasibility. n ENVIRO LEALCH continued from page 65
