Yukon. The Tintina Gold Belt is known to be highly prospective; since 1985 over 160 million ounces of gold have been discovered there. Since Comstock's QV property was optioned from Shawn Ryan, in 2010, they have completed all exploration expenditures under the agreement and only have one remaining payment in 2014, after which Comstock will hold 100% interest in the property. Comstock's 2012 exploration resulted in the discovery of the VG Zone through soil sampling and trenching that was followed up by an eight hole, 1,334-metre drill program; seven out of the eight diamond drill holes intersected near surface gold mineralization. 2013 exploration saw 2,088 metres completed in nine holes. At the time of our site visit, assays for five drill holes were pending but a highlight from the first four holes included 2.06 g/t gold over 36.4 metres at a depth of 8.6 metres from hole QV13-012. Results from the program extended the VG Zone which remains open in all directions. Duncan McBean P .Geo, VP of Exploration, said that they plan to continue drilling on the property in late August to follow up on targets in the QV Zone. The property was also one of the first properties to test out Shawn Ryan's Geo Probe completing seven lines of drilling spaced every five metres. Results from drilling with the Geo Probe correlated with previous soil sampling and geophysics. PACIFIC RIDGE EXPLORATION LTD. [PEX-TSXV] Pacific Ridge acquired the King Solomon Gold Project in 2013 with an option to earn a 100% interest. The road accessible property is 45 km from Dawson City. King Solomon Dome is the highest point in the Klondike and every creek draining from around the property is gold bearing. Pacific Ridge's property is located at the headwaters of these prolific Klondike placer gold producers, yet it has never been tested by trenching or drilling. Pacific Ridge believes that "there is an excellent chance for the discovery of a 10 www.resourceworld.com bedrock source of gold mineralization associated with these gold-in-soil anomalies and the headwaters of placer gold creeks. An exploration program of deep penetrating soil sampling and high resolution IP-resistivity geophysical surveying has recently commenced on the King Solomon property and will continue into the Sophie property." It was at the King Solomon Property that we got to see Ryan's Geo Probe in action. A three man team demonstrated for us just how efficient, precise and organized the procedure was. The strategy for Pacific Ridge is once a gold soil anomaly is defined they look for areas of resistivity chargeability contrast and line those up with the grid sampling. So far they match up well. The Geo Probe is brought in to test the refined targets. From 20 to 30 samples are being per day taken at depths of 2 to 3 m with the Geo Probe. The Geo Probe results, taken from the soil-bedrock interface, will help refine targets to be drilled. Ryan is also acquiring a low impact, track mounted RAB Drill and Pacific Ridge is hoping that it will be able to test its King Solomon targets as soon as late this summer. In July, Pacific Ridge announced that it entered into an agreement with 39242 Yukon Inc. to earn a 100% interest in the Sophie mineral property consisting of 40 claims which adjoins the southern boundary of the King Solomon property. TAKU GOLD CORP. [TAK-TSXV] While in Dawson we sat down with Taku Gold's Mark Fekete, P .Geo. and director and Zak Dingsdale, President, to talk about Taku's exploration program. Taku was one of the first companies in the area with Fekete up staking the day after the Underworld discovery was announced in 2009. Since then, Taku has spent $8 million on acquisition and exploration on eight properties totaling 67,448 hectares in the White Gold District. They have completed airborne geophysics and soil sampling on all of them from a central camp that is only 15 minutes away from any one property by helicopter. The company has collected over 45,000 soil samples, excavated 14 trenches and drilled 21 holes. Taku is now focusing on the Rosebute and Sulphur properties. "We've learned how important it was to develop targets," said Fekete, "You want to make very sure you are putting the drill in the right place." Though initial drilling was costing around $600 per metre, Fekete said that they have reduced that cost substantially and hope to reduce that cost even further by using tools like Geo Probe sampling, portable XRF analyzers and induced polarization/resistivity surveys. He explained "If we can use the Geoprobe and XRF to focus and reduce the size of our trenches, and also do reclamation as we trench, it helps drive down costs. This leaves us more money for testing with the drills." In 2012, a seven-hole, 1,033-metre core drilling program was done on the Sulphur property which mostly concentrated on the Lions area in the northeast corner of the property. Four of the six holes drilled in this area encountered anomalous gold values but better gold values were encountered in the single hole drilled on the Blues area across the Sulphur Creek valley from Lions. Taku reported that hole SU12-07 returned three gold intersections with up to 0.72g/t Au over 1.0m from 72.0m. Also In 2012, Taku released results from a four-hole, 963-metre core drilling program on the Norwest area's three gold-rich soil anomalies at the Rosebute Property. Three of the four holes returned notable gold intersections including 0.95g/t Au over 23.4m from 22.6m in hole RO12-01. More importantly detailed soil sampling in 2012 identified the new "Hudbay" zone consisting of a very strong gold-in-soil anomaly trending northwest over a length of at least 1,400 metres that varies from 150m to 350m wide and shows a maximum soil value of 0.90g/t Au. Subsequent trenching at the south end of the Hudbay Zone uncovered up to 6.17g/t Au over 5.0m. Geoprobe sampling, focused trenching and induced polarization/resistivity surveys will be completed at the Blues Zone on Sulphur and the Hudbay Zone on Rosebute in 2013. Drilling is planned for next season at both the Sulphur and SEPTEMBER 2013
