[CDB-TSXV] reports takeover target Sabre Metals Inc. drilled a significant copper and gold porphyry discovery at the San Matias Project in Cordoba, Colombia. Cordoba has signed a binding agreement to consolidate the 26,000-hectare San Matias Project by acquiring Sabre, with closing anticipated early 2014. The initial four short drill holes at Montiel tested mineralization below robust geochemical anomalies and artisanal workings, and all intersected high-grade copper-gold porphyry mineralization including: • 101.10 metres at 1.0% copper and 0.65 g/t gold (2.37 g/t gold-equivalent) in DDH-004; • 46.60 metres at 1.31% copper and 0.86 g/t gold (3.11 g/t AuEq) in DDH-003; • 73.32 metres at 0.84% copper and 0.74 g/t gold (2.19 g/t AuEq) in DDH-002; • 48.61 metres at 1.0% copper and 1.21 g/t gold (2.93 g/t AuEq) in DDH-001; • Trenching and channel sampling have identified substantial copper-gold mineralization over 1,000 metres of strike at Montiel on an east-west trend with the potential for the geochemical anomalies to connect with results including: • 154 metres at 1.60% copper and 2.6 g/t gold (channel); • 30.0 metres at 1.0% copper and 0.20 g/t gold (trench); • 48.61 metres at 0.34% copper and 0.69 g/t gold (trench); • 100 metres at 0.31% copper and 0.21 g/t gold (trench); Montiel is the first of multiple porphyry prospects to be drill tested along the 13-km 50 www.resourceworld.com RW December 2013.indd 50 PHONE: 1-866-873-8327 San Matias Project, which also includes the Costa Azul porphyry target located just 2 km south of Montiel. Trenching at Costa Azul is continuing with significant trenching results received including 30.0 metres at 0.47% copper and 0.47 g/t gold at Costa Azul (trench). Simon Ridgway, CEO of Cordoba, said, "Such exceptional high-grade copper-gold drill results in a newly discovered porphyry system bode well for our major drill program that will commence upon completion of the merger expected early 2014. This short drill program has confirmed that exceptional copper-gold grades continue to depth and are not just a product of surface enrichment in a tropical environment. Good potential also exists for mineralization to continue westwards, where significant trenching results have been received over 1,000 metres of strike. n Cancana building manganese mine Cancana Resources Corp. [CNY-TSXV] has begun the development of infrastructure and mine site preparatory work to establish commercial mining operations at its Valdirâo Manganese Mine in Espigao, Rondonia State, Brazil. On July 15, 2013 Cancana announced that WEB: www.FSCwire.com the Departamento Nacional de Produção Mineral, (Department of Mines for Mineral Production), had issued a Guia De Utiliacão, or Trial Mining License, on its 886241/2011 manganese claim, known as Valdirâo. Once the infrastructure is complete, Cancana will immediately begin mining and stockpiling of unprocessed manganese ore. Infrastructure will include the establishment of a gated access, fencing to delineate roadways and areas of mining, grading and access roads and traversing road cuts across hillside and mining area for equipment access. Cancana has hired contract-mining crews to work in conjunction with Cancana's own staff. Cancana anticipates that this preparatory and infrastructure work shall take about 10 days to complete the initial stages and then, as mining commences, there will be ongoing and continued work in order to maintain access and establish new areas and extensions for access throughout the Valdirâo mining area. The Valdirâo mine site is situated on an area of approximately 5 hectares with an incline to the top of a ridge. Cancana, as part of its infrastructure planning has commissioned the manufacturing of two dry screens, which are transportable, and which the soils and manganese ore will be screened through initially. The soil and ore will be loaded onto these screens, agitated manually to extract larger lump ore, after which stockpiles of ore will be created. Finer screening, crushing, washing and final sizing will be completed at a later date. Andrew Male, President and CEO of Cancana, said, "The commencement of the development of the infrastructure and mine site preparatory work is a major step towards the start of mining. We are excited about this progress as it is another milestone towards becoming a producing mine." n DECEMBER/JANUARY 2014 12/11/2013 6:12 PM
