At the Northwest mineralized zone, hole LM14-95 intersected 4.8% zinc, 0.3% lead, 0.5% copper, 24.3 g/t silver and 0.9 g/t gold from 397.5-400 metres, while hole LM 14-96 returned 7.0% zinc, 4.3% lead, 0.4% copper, 62.1 g/t silver and 0.7 g/t gold from 319.3-320.8 metres. Candente Copper Corp. [DNT-TSX, Lima] is developing the CaƱariaco Norte copper deposit in northern Peru. The deposit contains a measured and indicated resource of 752.4 million tonnes, grading 0.45% copper, 0.07 g/t gold and 1.9 g/t silver for just over 7.53 billion lbs copper, almost 1.67 million ounces gold and just over 45.23 million ounces silver contained. Inferred resources contain just over 1.43 bil- lion lbs of copper. On May 23, the company announced completion of non-brokered private placement for almost $1.37 million. Capstone Mining Corp. [CS-TSX] suf- fered a fatality due to an accident at its Cozamin copper mine in Mexico on June 5. Production at the mine was resumed on June 9. Other operational mines include Pinto Valley in the US and Minto in Canada. Capstone also has development projects in Chile and Canada, and exploration proper- ties in Chile and Mexico. For Q1 2014, the company reported a net earnings loss of $4.4 million compared with net earnings of $6.9 million in Q1 2013. The loss was primarily due to the write-down of a non- cash ore stockpile, according to Capstone. Meanwhile, revenue reached $160.8 million for Q1 2014 compared with $57.7 million in Q1 2013; payable copper produced stood at 26,635 tonnes compared with 8,111 tonnes. Copper Fox Metals Inc. [CUU-TSXV; CPFXF-OTC Pink] holds a 25% interest in the Schaft Creek copper-gold-molybde- num-silver project in northwestern British Columbia through a joint venture with Teck Resources Ltd. [TCK.B-TSX;TCQ- NYSE] The project's January 2013 feasibility study outlines a 130,000 tonnes per day (tpd) open-pit mine with proven and probable reserves of 940.8 million tonnes, grading 0.27% copper, 0.19 g/t gold, 0.018% molybdenum and 1.72 g/t silver. This comprises 5.6 billion lbs cop- per, 5.8 million ounces gold, 363.5 million lbs molybdenum and 51.7 million ounces silver. Other company projects include Van Dyke and Sombrero Butte copper projects, both located in Arizona. On May 15, Copper Fox announced a second drill had been added to assist in its latest cam- paign at Van Dyke. Copper Mountain Mining Corp. [CUM-TSX] operates the Copper Mountain copper mine in south-central British Columbia. The company has a strategic partnership with Mitsubishi Materials Corp., which owns a 25% stake in the mine. Output in Q1 2014 stood at 19.1 million lbs copper, 5,400 ounces gold and 105,300 ounces silver, up from 14.2 million lbs copper, 5,300 ounces gold and 64,200 ounces silver in Q1 2013. A secondary crusher is being installed at the site for a capital cost of $40 million and is set to come on stream in August, replacing three temporary portable crushers. The mine will then process at least 35,000 tpd. Curis Resources Ltd. [CUV-TSX] announced on June 12 that the maturity date of its bridge loan facility with Red Kite for up to $40 million has been extended to May 31, 2016. Curis is in the final permit- ting stages for its Phase 1 production test facility at its Florence soluble oxide cop- per project in central Arizona. In January, Curis announced a supplement to the proj- ect's updated economic model, estimating it could provide more than $3.3 billion in new economic activity for Arizona over 30 years. The company proposes in-situ copper recovery, with injection, retrieval and processing of copper in solution. At a 0.05% total copper cut-off, probable reserves currently stand at 340 million tons, grading 0.36% total copper for 2.42 billion lbs copper contained. Cyprium Mining Corp. [CUG-TSXV] has completed its first phase of drilling on its Las Cristinas property located 150 km northeast of the town of Chihuahua, Mexico.
