Though Goldstrike Resources Ltd. [GSR-TSXV] has only been on their Plateau property for several weeks and there has been no previous work done on the property, the exploration that has been done has yielded some very impressive results. Trevor Bremmer, Chief Geologist and Director, said you could "mine the soil here." The Plateau North and Plateau South properties are located on the Hess River about 130 km east of Mayo. Several rivers in the area carry placer gold and as the Russell Creek placer, 12 km down- stream, is highly glaciated, local bedrock is likely the source of the placer gold. Given the high-grade, free gold exposed on the Plateau properties, Bremmer said it is mostly likely the gold source for the placer deposits. At Plateau North the first soil sample contained up to 26,820 g/t gold, bedrock grab samples there yielded 8,990 g/t gold along a 2-km trend. Visible gold can be found in the broken, weath- ered rocks on the surface of the property. Nine holes drilled on the property had visible gold spotted by the crew even before drill results came back from the lab. Bremmer said the next stage of exploration will expand on soil samples saying, "We think we know which way this is plung- ing." Bremmer said that they know enough to drill test the target at depth which will probably happen next year using a bigger rig to test at a greater depth. On September 9, Goldstrike reported that a IP survey outlined a large, well defined chargeability anomaly near dis- covery hole PSVG13-03 on the Plateau South property which intersected 7.60 g/t gold over 9.03 metres. Goldstrike says the anomaly "is interpreted to represent dis- seminated mineralization similar to that associated with bonanza-grade gold found in surface grab samples and drill core." In 2013, Ron Stack was named Prospector of the Year by the Yukon Prospector's Association for his discovery of the Goldbank Trend on Goldstrike's Plateau South property. Manson Creek Resources Ltd.'s [MCK-TSXV] 100%-owned Tell property is easy to spot from the air. A half dozen, large, reddish gossans on the hillside mark the approximately 2,150-hectare prop- erty located in the Mayo Mining District. A gossan is a rust-colored, iron-bearing area of ground containing minerals at an outcrop of a vein or mineral deposit. Jean Pierre (J.P.) Jutras, President, says signs indicate the property hosts a VMS deposit. Target commodities include: zinc, nickel, copper gold and silver. Manson Creek has done some soil sampling and some basic geophysics. Soil samples at the Main Tell Gossan yielded up to 4.96% zinc, 0.27% nickel, and anomalous copper, barium and silver. A 2012 IP survey defined a large area of sub-surface coincident apparent conductivity and chargeability at the head of the gossan formation and kill zone area. Jutras said, "If there is something con- ductive underlying the gossans, it is big." The results were incorporated into a data model to make the geology easier to con- ceptualize. The company has completed the drilling of two holes this season and is currently drilling a third hole on the prop- erty, results are expected in September. Jutras said thanks to the hard work of his small crew of eight, including six Yukoners the, "the gossans are no longer a mystery." In late August, Manson Creek and part- ner Guatavita Gold Corp. announced the completion of the Phase I drilling on the Tell property. Guatavita Gold is earning up to a 50% interest on the project. Jutras said that the drill results should be in very soon. Rock Haven Resources Ltd. [RK-TSXV] has completed ~50,000 metres of drilling on their 100%-owned, road accessible, gold-silver Klaza Project located in the southern part of Yukon's Dawson Range Gold Belt.
