Why sacrifice play time for work time? Big toys, big space, big freedom… why sacrifice anything at all? Who says life can only be won in a shirt and tie? Pull on your work boots and CRANK LIFE UP in Fort St. John where the rewards are as big as the lifestyle to be had by those ambitious enough to work for it. fortstjohn.ca caterpillar's new hydraulic mining shovel In nOVeMBer, caterpillar Inc. [CAT-NYSE] announced the suc- cessful completion of the field testing of the Cat® 6020B Hydraulic Mining Shovel. The 6020B, says Caterpillar, is designed for simplicity and reli- ability without compromising safety. "Voice-of-customer drove the requirements of the machine. Every decision, every design detail was based on the hundreds of comments we received during our customer research," explains Anita Russwurm, New Product Introduction Manager for the 6020B. "While reviewing this cus- tomer input, three common themes emerged. Customers wanted a machine that is safe, simple and reliable. That's what we designed and what can be seen throughout the machine." The new, state-of-the-art, three-seat cab is the first in this size class of shovels. The two additional seats are useful for training and observation purposes. A large floor window, windshield and side windows allow for unrestricted lines of sight.
