Every day, Dominion Diamond employees work side-by- side with contractors like Darcy Sinclair. He first came to the Ekati Mine as an Automotive/Heavy Duty Technician with Kingland Ford. He has since advanced his career and is now the Underground Truck Shop Service Supervisor for Finning Canada. Darcy recognizes the opportunities that Dominion Diamond creates for northern companies and residents. He encourages youth to follow his lead and explore the different career paths the mining industry can offer. "Trades are just what the North needs," says Darcy. "I encourage youth to set expectations for themselves and follow through, because school is setting them up for real life." Dominion Diamond is proud to work with other northern companies who share our commitment to engaging communities—especially people like Darcy who set a positive example for others to follow. There are currently four defined targets identified for future drill- ing. Chairman Ayranto estimates it will cost ~$3 million to prove up a 1 million ounce of gold resource at the Hyland Main Zone, and towards that end the company plans to raise $3-$5 million for an explora- tion program designed to expand the Main Zone "targeting the 1 million oz threshold through systematic definition drilling and testing newly identified regional gold min- eralization targets." Management has faith in the project; the board is unpaid and the company is ~40% insider owned. "Geologically, we did the right things but got caught in an unappreciative market," said Ayranto. The company is dedicated to proving the proj- ect is regionally significant. In September of this year, Banyan Gold announced the completion of the 2015 Hyland exploration program stat- ing that, "These results confirm Banyan's hypothesis the Hyland Gold Project hosts carbonate replacement-style gold and base-metals mineralization, akin to ATAC Resources Rau Trend, further north in the Selwyn Basin." strategic metals Ltd. [SMD-TSXV] is a very prolific project generator with 130 100%-owned projects in their port- folio. This innovative explorer has, as of August 5, 2015, working capital of $37 million from project generation, spin-outs, royalty sales and investments. And, as it sometimes happens in bad markets, the company is trading at a significant dis- count to its working capital. Exploration is conducted by Archer, Cathro & Assossciates, an in-house, geo- logical engineering and exploration company involved in many significant Yukon discoveries and project advance- ments: Osiris (ATAC Resources), Wolverine (Yukon Zinc), Golden Revenue (Northern Freegold), Klaza (Rockhaven Resources), Casino (Western Copper) to name a few. One of the projects Strategic Metals is currently exploring is their southern Yukon, Hopper Project north of Haines Junction. The company describes the project as a road accessible, multi-square kilometre hydrothermal system centred on a porphyry-style copper zone that is flanked by gold and copper-rich stacked skarn horizons. Richard Drechsler, VP of Communications for Strategic Metals, said that there were 10 employees working on site at the Hopper Project just finish- ing up a 3,227-metre program with really good results. He describes the skarn por- tion of the system as copper-gold in the upper horizons (0.84 g/t gold and 1.58% copper over 8.01 m; 1.01 g/t gold and 1% copper over 6.44 m; and 2.4 g/t gold and 1.03% copper over 4.48 metres) and high- grade gold in a lower horizon (12.15 g/t gold and 0.95% copper over 2.65 m and 43 g/t gold over 1 metre). Drechsler said that Strategic Metals has four crews working on 35 different properties. n
