The lithium mineral is known as spodumene. To advance the project, Critical Elements has signed a collaboration agree- ment with a leading, but as yet unnamed, chemical company which has access to major worldwide markets. The partners will work together to prepare a feasibility study and, should it prove positive as is expected, the agreement with the strate- gic partner includes a take or pay off-take arrangement for all products produced at the mine. In addition, the partner has an option to acquire an ownership interest of up to 25% in the project by committing to pay for a portion of mine construction costs. Jean-Francois Meilleur, Vice President, told Resource World that to earn their 25% interest, the partner would have to provide 25% of the Capex to build the mine and plant. The remaining of the construction financing could be raised in a conventional JV structure. He added that discussions are also under way with Québec based funds and Hydro Québec with regards to the project funding. "This is truly a game-changing agreement for the company," said Jean- Sébastien Lavallée, President and CEO of Critical Elements. "The company now has the ideal partner to complete its feasibility study and advance the Rose Project. With a quality asset like the Rose Project and our joint expertise, we will be positioned to maximize the project´s potential." "With the diversified Rose Project products and its 17-year mine life, we will be positioned to produce ceramic- grade lithium concentrate as well as meet the specifications for the fast growing lithium battery market. The tantalum and mica concentrate also gives additional by-product diversification. This makes the Rose Project unique among lithium assets." Critical Elements also has a number of other mineral projects in Canada. n TSX: MOZ Contact: Christopher Haldane, Investor Relations Telephone: 416.987.0714 Website: www.marathon-gold.com Newfoundland's Next Gold Camp: 1.3 million oz. and growing
