[ILC-TSXV] says it is one of the more active companies in a sector that is getting a lot of investor attention. Investors have been drawn to lithium in the hope that juniors like International Lithium will become suppliers to the battery sector, which is expected to drive demand for the chemical element in the coming years. In keeping with that goal, the company says $17 million has been budgeted for exploration at projects in Argentina, Ireland and Canada. Recently the company said its Australian Stock Exchange-listed strategic partner Pioneer Resources Ltd. [PIO-ASX] has earmarked $1 million for exploration on the Mavis and Raleigh lithium pegmatite proj- ects east of Dryden, Ontario. It said the exploration programs will include litho-geochemical sampling, ground and airborne geophysics and 3,000 metres of diamond drilling with 1,500 metres planned for each project in the fall of 2016. The Mavis and Raleigh lithium projects are located 19 and 80 km east respectively from the town of Dryden. Both projects are in close vicinity to the Trans-Canada Highway and railway transportation arter- ies linking the project to larger centres such as Thunder Bay, Ontario and Winnipeg, Manitoba. Previous exploration work on the projects outlined spodumene-bearing high- grade lithium pegmatites within anomalous bands. The close proximity of the projects presents clear strategic and operational advantages, said International Lithium, which is pursuing lithium prospects with reported high grades in this region, in a bid to consolidate them. The aim is to identify sufficient resources in multiple prospects to potentially feed a common processing facility. The Vancouver junior has secured financial backing from keystone investor Ganfeng Lithium Co. Ltd., a leading China-based lithium product manufacturer which has a 17.5% stake in the exploration junior. Another significant shareholder is TNR Gold Corp. [TNR- TSXV], with 21.18%. The company's primary focus is the Mariana lithium-potash brine project, a joint venture with Ganfeng, and located in the South American Lithium Belt in Argentina. The Ontario portfolio also includes the 100%-owned Forgan Project, which is located about 125 km northeast of Thunder Bay. However, the Mavis, Raleigh and Forgan projects together form the basis of the company's newly created Upper Canada Lithium Pool, which is designed to focus on acquiring numerous prospects with pre- viously reported, high concentrations of lithium located in close proximity to exist- ing infrastructure. Eighty km south of Dublin, Ireland, the company has carried out geophysics, sam- pling and drilling on its Avalonia lithium prospect. The property covers an extensive NE-SW trending 50-km long rare metals pegmatite belt. n RESOURCES AND MINING INC. Ontario FINDING GOLD GTA.V info@GTAresources.ca ONTariO
