A new, eco-friendly, leach formula, HM X-leach is open- ing new opportunities in the hydrometallurgical side of the mining industry. HM X-leach is a "more effective, safer and faster alternative to the standard toxic cyanide leaching which currently dominates the industry," said Duane Nelson, President of Mineworx Technologies, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Iberian Minerals Ltd [IML- TSXV; SLDRF-OTCQB]. Hydrometallurgy, explained Nelson, is part of the field of extractive metallurgy, involving the use of aqueous chemistry for the recovery of metals from ores, concen- trates and recycled or residual materials". Nelson, co-founder and former CEO of Silvermex Resources Inc., a silver and gold producer focused in Mexico told Resource World, the company's goals are to, "complete the testing and initiate a number of commercial trials of the HM X-leach formula in both the mining and E-Waste sectors". The company describes HM X-leach as, "eco-friendly reagents used for the extraction of precious metals into a water-soluble solution. The ingredients are made from reagent grade chemicals and are completely safe and envi- ronmentally friendly. The oxidant necessary to create the leaching or stripping action is completed on-site with a safe and unique electrochemical reaction." Neslon says, "Most of the ingredients are consumed by humans weekly." Testing has proven the HM X-leach to be very effective on numerous ores and concentrates, often outperform- ing cyanide. Numerous individual leach tests have been carried out on various ores under varying conditions to optimize the chemistry at Mineworx's laboratory in Coquitlam, British Columbia. "We have also engaged Met- Solve Laboratories, a respected independent mineral and hydrometallurgical testing facility, based in Langley, BC to complete their own tests and assays in addition to verify- ing our results. The solution has proven to be effective in performance against cyanide on many ores and concen- trates, for example, in some cases, we are achieving the same gold recovery in less than 1/3rd of the time it takes cyanide. Nelson commented, "There has always been an inter- est in finding new alternatives or improving previously Eco-friendly leach formula opens new opportunities by Kathrine Moore POTENTIAL uSERS Of hM X-LEACh Gravity concentrates Flotation concentrates Clients in jurisdictions where cyanide leaching is barred Existing E-Waste recyclers seeking an alternative to cyanide use
