"Within those three trends, there are five, high priority, drill-ready targets," said Baker. "Each of them has district-scale potential for gold deposits." Baker, who is a graduate of the nearby South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, noted that the Homestake Mine also produced signifi- cant amounts of silver. "Our Rochford Project mineraliza- tion is virtually identical to the Homestake Mine with probably 1 gram of silver for every 5 grams of gold. For Mineral Mountain's upcoming exploration pro- gram, the company plans to initially drill two of the high priority targets, namely, the Standby Mine patents. "We plan to drill about 10,000 metres tracing the gold mineralization down-plunge from the mine," said Baker. "The other target is the Cochrane South Project Trend. We have some high-grade mineralization that was intersected histori- cally within 150 metres of our boundary and we plan to drill another 10,000 metres there." Pending the receipt of drill permits and completion of a $6 million financing, the drilling program would start either later this year or early in January 2017. The Black Hills of South Dakota is a mining- friendly jurisdiction with year-round access, excellent infrastructure and a skilled mining labour force. With such a large gold endowment and so many past producers within the large Rochford property, the extensive gold trends and Coeur Mining's nearby produc- ing Wharf gold mine, Baker is of the view that, because of the size and length of these gold structures, there is enough volume of gold mineralized rock, that the company has documented that each one of the tar- gets could contain multi million ounces. "We could have several gold deposits in the Rochford district," he said. n a mineral mountain geologist examines an outcrop in the rochford district of the Black Hills, southwestern South Dakota, USa. photo courtesy mineral mountain resources Ltd.
