THE SURVEY WAS CONDUCTED BY ABACUS DATA AND COMMISSIONED BY THE NWT AND NUNAVUT CHAMBER OF MINES AND THE MINING ASSOCIATION OF CANADA. 86% believe a strong mining sector is vital to the long-term health of the NWT economy To learn more about the NWT's world-class resources visit: nwtmining.com • nwt petroleum.com • nwtgeoscience.ca 83% say regula on of the mining sector works well 82% would like to see more mining projects in the NWT NWT RESIDENTS WANT NEW MINES Results from a territory-wide survey conducted by a na onal research company WANT NEW MINES 8 in 10 people have posi ve feeling about mining and mineral explora on companies opera ng in the NWT. heptahydrate only; bismuth as bismuth ingot, bismuth needles and bismuth oxide. The model would produce 20% of the bis- muth as ingot, 20% as needles and 60% as oxide; copper as copper cement, which will be sold to a copper smelter for conversion to copper metal. Fortune will be responsible for marketing all of the products. The company continues to hold discus - sions with the NWT government regarding a socioeconomic agreement and funding for the all-weather access road which is critical in determining the construction schedule for the project. In addition, dis - cussions have been held with various parties to determine all available options for financing the NICO project. Discussions concerning the acquisition of off-take for the metals and chemicals Fortune plans to produce from the NICO project have also been held with interested parties. Last April, the NWT Government Department of Transportation submitted permit applications to the Wek'èezhìi Land and Water Board, to build a public high - way to the community of Whati which is 50 km south of the NICO Project which has already received its environmental assessment approval for a mine and con- centrator, and a spur road from the public highway to the mine. Fortune's current activities are focused on advancing permit- ting and financing. TerraX Minerals Inc. [TXR-TSXV; TRXXF-OTC; TX0-FSE] recently reported assays from the remaining 23 holes (6,422.6 metres) from the 2016 drill program at mul - tiple zones on the Yellowknife City Gold Project, immediately north of Yellowknife. Drilling focused on the Sam Otto area (14 holes), but also on the Mispickel Zone and Walsh Lake reconnaissance north of Mispickel. Drilling at the Sam Otto Main Zone returned 129.35 metres of 0.52 g/t gold, including 32.13 metres of 1.24 g/t gold, including 3.42 metres of 4.77 g/t gold in hole TSO16-010. At Sam Otto – Dave's Pond, drilling returned 11.50 metres of 2.42 g/t gold, including 2.40 metres of 9.89 g/t gold in hole TSO16-005. Assays from this program ranged from below detection to 24.40 g/t gold. Avalon Advanced Materials Inc. [AVL-TSX; AVLNF-OTCQX] has spent more than $100 million, since 2005, advancing its Nechalacho deposit at Thor Lake about 100 km southeast of Yellowknife. Work included metallurgical, environmental, market studies and 120,197 metres of dia - mond drilling in 559 holes, resulting in economically significant NI 43-101 compli- ant measured, indicated and inferred heavy rare earth and zirconium resources in a high-grade sub-zone called the Basal Zone. Nechalacho is a large deposit enriched in heavy rare earths with very low ura - nium and thorium levels, good rock mechanics and shallow depth. Relative to other locations in the north, Thor Lake has good access through its proximity to Great Slave Lake, providing access by barge in the summer and ice roads in the winter. A Feasibility Study has been completed; however, the Nechalacho Project is cur - rently on hold while Avalon focuses on its Separation Rapids lithium project, Kenora, Ontario and its East Kemptville tin-indium project, Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. n
