The inferred resource is contained within a shallow, north-south-trending mineralized cor- ridor that is about 1.3 km long and up to 355 metres wide. Resources are reported within a conceptual open-pit shell which extends along a 1.3-km corridor and to 220 metres below surface. Copper-gold miner - alization has been intercepted in drill holes below the conceptual pit shell and also at depths greater than 220 metres below sur- face; however, this was not included in the initial inferred resource due to insufficient drilling at the resource cut-off date. This mineralization provides drilling targets which could expand the inferred resource. The Alacran mineralized system remains open to depth. SilverCrest Metals Inc. [SIL-TSXV] was formed following the acquisition of SilverCrest Mines Inc. by First Majestic Silver Corp. SilverCrest Metals has six silver and/or silver and gold projects in Mexico, five in Sonora and one in Durango. The company is currently concentrating its efforts on the underground rehabilita - tion program at its Las Chispas property in Sonora. The initial focus was on the Las Chispas, William Tell and Babicanora veins. Exploration has been expanded to include a new, recently discovered target at the historic Varela Mine. This mine has two near-parallel veins that are approximately 300 metres west of the William Tell Vein. Approximately seven km of under - ground workings were accessed by late 2016 with an additional 4.5 km to be opened and explored over the next several months. As SilverCrest opens and explores the underground workings, it continues to collect samples at intervals of 2 – 3 metres along the strike length of the veins. A Level 4 sample averaged 1.1 metres wide grading 3.13 g/t gold and 223.6 g/t silver, or 458 g/t AgEq over a continuous 80-metre strike length, excluding 7 metres of faulting. SilverCrest has permits for underground drilling, including permission to mine a 100,000-tonne bulk sample for testing and processing off-site. n
