[RMO-TSXV; EK7N-FF-FSE] continues to develop promising drill targets at its 100%-optioned, early-stage Brunswick property in the Timmins area, northeast Ontario. The Brunswick property covers a 10km-long section of the Ridout fault shear zone, an extension of the Larder Lake break (fault zone), and associated with the Kirkland Lake and Larder Lake gold camps. Recent geological and outcrop sampling under the guidance of Robert Middleton, Vice President, Exploration, identified a 1km-long arsenic-antimony (As-Sb) anomaly, often an indicator of nearby gold mineralization, along an offset extension of the larger shear zone outlined on the eastern half of the property adjacent to the outcropping gold showing. This suggests an extension of the gold-bearing zone has been fault-offset and continues westward onto the central part of the 10km-long property. This led the company to plan an expan - sion of the present grid 1.8 km west for early 2017 to cover this structural offset and to fill in a gap between the As-Sb anomaly and the grid that was surveyed by a recently completed geophysical sur - vey covering the gold zone. This leaves a 1.2-km prospective area adjacent to the numerous drill targets already identified on the eastern grid. Grab samples taken in May 2016 from the showing area returned 32.9 g/t gold, 3.77 g/t gold and 3.13 g/t gold. Middleton pointed out to Resource World that the geological environment at Brunswick is the same setting as the nearby Borden (Probe/Goldcorp) and Bell Creek (Tahoe Resources) gold deposits. "We have completed a 30-km grid with a deep-penetrating induced polarization survey and have found numerous tar - gets and four more structures parallel to the Ridout fault," said Middleton. "This spring, we're going to continue mapping. We have found other zones of sericite-car- bonate alternation with these structures. They're continuing to both east and to the west. Where they continue to the west, they line up with these other arsenic-anti- mony samples." The company plans to expand the prop- erty grid in February and March prior to a drilling program. "I've already got 14 drill holes selected within the present grid," said Middleton. "There will likely be more targets but then I'm going to select the best of the best." Rainy Mountain is also advancing its 100%-owned Powell gold property 125 km west of Thunder Bay, northwest Ontario where it has been working since 2004. "The importance of the property is that it covers the extension of the Ardeen gold mine structure which hosted the oldest gold mine in Ontario that was mined in the 1880s," said Middleton. "We also have the extension of the Moss Lake deposit that Wesdome Gold is working on. We want to work on Powell when the creeks are still frozen as there's a couple of creeks that are following these structures." Drilling the Powell property in 2011 returned 2.91 g/t gold over 1.55 metres and 8.45 g/t gold over 1.9 metres. "We're also in discussions with a poten - tial JV partner who wants to get into this area because there's a $5 million program next door," said Middleton. "Meanwhile, we're going to do our lines and an IP survey." n MINING Drill targets defined at Rainy Mountain's Brunswick Project www.resourceworld.com
