[PZG-NYSE] is focused on acquiring and developing gold and precious met- als properties exclusively in the USA – and they have sound reasons for doing so. Recognizing that junior mining is an inherently risky business, Paramount set out to minimize those risks in building its asset base. To this end, they do not undertake grass-roots exploration but instead look specifically for mid to advanced-stage deposits that they believe can be expanded by targeted, cost-effective exploration or by unlocking a hidden value contained in the exploration data and not yet realized in the project. And they avoid projects that may have significant technical risk such as permitting in environmentally sensitive areas or projects with known metallurgi- cal issues. They believe the USA provides them with low political risk and clearly defined permitting processes. To guide them in their search for suit- able projects, they use some specific criteria when evaluating potential acquisi- tions. These include the potential project having: • close proximity to infrastructure • proximity to other operating mines • upside exploration potential to increase mineral inventory • high grades to minimize projected opera- tional cost per ounce, or potential for high grades discoveries through exploration • good potential economic outcome in low metal price environments • good metallurgical recoveries to have a simple and proven process for gold and sil- ver extraction. As part of this strategy, Paramount currently holds 100% ownership of two advanced gold properties, namely the Grassy Mountain Project in Oregon and the Sleeper Project in Nevada. Their current focus is the Grassy Mountain Project in Malheur County, east- ern Oregon, about 22 miles south of Vale and 70 miles west of Boise, Idaho. Paramount has recently closed a US $3.6 million financ- ing to further advance their Preliminary Paramount Gold Nevada likes western USA gold by Ron Hall MINING Drilling operations at the Grassy Mountain gold project in Malheur County, eastern Oregon.
