A consultant's report said the mine could produce 300 ounces of gold per month once full production was reached in July 2016. Subject to the price of gold and financing, the company envis- aged mining soft saprolite and hard rock from the mine pit. Latin American Minerals said management has identified exploration targets at the Independencia Mine as well as six gold zones on adjacent exploration claims, which are also part of the Paso Yobai Project. In September 2016, the company said it had launched a 10,000-metre drill program to explore six prominent gold targets on the Paso Yobai property. Results from the program returned 7.34 metres of 37.94 g/t gold in a newly discovered high-grade zone, indicating that Paso Yobai has the potential to host a significant alkali gold system, the company said. Latin America's shareholders include Pinetree Capital Ltd., [PNP-TSX], which held a 9.9% interest, according to a September 2016 press release. Hudson Resources Inc. [HUD-TSXV] is working to develop a rare earth elements project in the Sarfartoq Carbonatite Complex in west Greenland, where it has established a positive Preliminary Economic Assessment as well as a rare earth mineral resource.
