And with Osisko Mining [OSK-TSX] participating as a subscriber to this offer- ing, President and CEO, Steve Roebuck explains, "Certainly, in this last financing there was a transition in shareholders to a mix of largely institutional funds, and strategic investments by Osisko Mining… The gold companies have sat up and taken notice of us. They are getting involved at this early stage in the project." What are they noticing? High-grade gold assay results from 2016 channel sampling; the Galena Vein and Vein No.2 reported 510 g/t gold, and 118 g/t gold over 1 m, respectively, using metallic sieve assay results. Both veins are open along strike. Roebuck himself uncovered a "museum quality" visible gold sample during his first site visit. As he tells it, "I hammered the outcrop and a slab broke loose…when I turned it over there was a large pro- trusion of visible gold, the size of your fingernail…I knew at that point we had found what we were looking for." The company, formerly Natan Resources, entered into an option agreement with Globex Mining Enterprises [GMX-TSX] in November 2016 to earn a 100% interest in the Montalembert Project. Enforcer must pay Globex of $2.7 million over three years (by January 2020), issue 8.5 million shares (by January 2020), and spend totaling $15 million (by January 2022). The ~7,300-hectare project area is 5 km off paved Route 113 and a power grid, and ~125 km west of Chibougamau, with access to skilled labour. Prior to Globex's channel sampling in 2015/ 2016, there was only a short history of gold exploration in 1950 and 1973. As a result, the prop- erty's mineralization potential is largely undefined. In 1950, N.A. Timmins (1938) Inc. drilled 30 holes after discovering visible gold showings. Despite logged occurrences of veining and mineralization in the 30 holes, only 10 samples were collected, and assay results are unknown. Roebuck speculates that the company may have abandoned the project because they were targeting visible gold, per the discovery showings, and they did not find any down- hole. Their use of 1-inch diameter core may have reduced the likelihood of intersecting visible gold due to the 'nuggety' nature of mineralization. This was the only historic drill campaign in the veined system, and it was "absolutely inconclusive". In 1973, Rochelom Mines completed a bulk sampling program targeting exposed surface veins. Channel sampling returned promising results with the Galena Vein bulk sample averaging 12.6 g/t gold over 108 m, and width of 0.65 m. Reportedly, at the time gold was US $125/oz and the company could simply not raise enough money to advance the project. This brings us to the recent channel sampling at Montalembert and Enforcer's plan for 2017 exploration, for which they have committed over $2.2 million. Ground field work will start with sur- face work near the Galena and No. 2 veins, including tracking veins along strike with channel sampling. In addition, Enforcer recently completed a high resolution aero- magnetic survey over the project area, and prospecting crews will ground-truth anomalies as follow up. Permit applications have been submit- ted for four drill target areas and a 6,000 to 8,000-metre drill program is expected to start by late June/early July and run through late fall. The primary focus will be to define the lateral extents of min- eralization and structural controls, and secondarily, to confirm down-dip exten- sion. Most drilling will use large diameter (PQ) coring to mitigate nuggety mineral- ization impacts on resource estimates, and some will use reverse circulation (RC) drill- ing to enable quick advancement. The property is on Category 2 Crown land shared with the Cree First Nation of Waswanipi. Enforcer Gold has been in consultation with the community and, according to Roebuk, "The relationship is very positive…They want to see respon- sible exploration and jobs for the people in the community. It is our intention to maxi- mize the benefits that will flow back to the community." The Montalembert 2017 program will certainly lead to an improved under- standing of the nature and controls of mineralization. Roebuk comments, "I think we have a great project, we have the financing, and a good working relation- ship with the Cree Waswanipi First Nation. We have everything we need to move for- ward." n
