It's always an impressive feat to discover an economically viable ore-
body, build a mine and operate it successfully – especially if you go it
alone. Not only has Clive Johnson, President and CEO of B2Gold Corp.
[BTO-TSX; BTG-NYSE AMERICAN; B2G-NSX], and his team built and
operated a gold mine, the company is now opening its fifth mine –
the Fekola gold mine in Mali, West Africa. In Nicaragua, the company
acquired and upgraded El Limon Mine and re-opened La Libertad
Mine. In Namibia, B2Gold built the Otjikoto Mine. The Masbate Mine
in the Philippines was acquired and upgraded.
In an interview, Johnson told Resource World how he got started
and used his contrarian approach to achieve this remarkable level of
success.
