[NCU-TSX] has a 100% interest in the Pumpkin Hollow copper development property located near Yerington, about 100 miles southeast of Reno. Pumpkin Hollow is a large advanced stage development copper property with substantial reserves (4.6 billion tonnes CuEq) and resources including copper, gold, silver, as well as a large iron resource. A positive feasibility study has been completed that contemplates production averaging 221 million lbs copper per year for the first five years. Nevada Exploration Inc. [NGE-TSXV; NVDEF-OTCQB] has been drilling its 100%-owned South Grass Valley property in Lander County about 25 miles north- east of Austin. Drill targets were identified using the company's groundwater explo- ration technology. Using a customized Scorpion drill (see photo in sidebar), the rig is designed to map and evaluate the geochemistry of the bedrock, alluvium (cover) and groundwater above a target area defined by favourable host rocks and enriched gold in groundwater. The data will be used to build a 3D geochemistry model. That will be followed by tighter- spaced drilling. The Scorpion drill rig costs about $100/metre to drill compared to about $300/metre for a conventional reverse circulation rig. The company has other gold prospects in Nevada, including Kelly Creek, Grass Valley, Awakening and Hot Pot. Nevada Sunrise Gold Corp. [NEV- TSXV] recently agreed to acquire a 100% interest in the historic Lovelock cobalt mine property, located roughly 150 km east of Reno. The Lovelock Mine property area consists of 35 unpatented claims in the Cottonwood Canyon area of Stillwater Range, covering 283 hectares. It was dis- covered by George Lovelock and Charles Bell around 1880. According to US Government annual reports, the Lovelock Mine saw limited production of nickel, copper and cobalt, starting in 1883. "The acquisition of the Lovelock Mine is yet another facet of our explora- tion operations in Nevada,'' said Nevada Sunrise President and CEO, Warren Stanyer. "Nevada Sunrise looks forward to applying modern exploration methods to the Lovelock Mine, which in today's terms could be judged as artisanal workings.'' Nevada Sunrise is a Vancouver-based junior with interests in gold, cobalt, and lithium exploration projects in Nevada. Its gold assets include a 100% interest in the Golden Arrow Project near Tonopah. That project is subject to an earn-in transaction with Emgold Mining Corp. [EMR-TSXV]. It also holds a 21% stake in a joint ven- ture with Liberty Gold Inc. [LGD-TSX] at the Kingsley Mountain gold project, near Wendover. Newrange Gold Corp. [NRG-TSXV; NRGOF-OTC] was focused on gold explora- tion in Colombia until the opportunity came up last year to acquire a property in one of Nevada's historic gold districts, not far from the Comstock Lode. Newrange acquired an option on the high-grade Pamlico gold NEVADA
