Robert Carrington, President, acquired the project because he believed Pamlico offered the opportunity to explore and develop a district scale, near surface, potentially high-grade gold deposit in multiple target areas. Exploration to date has been insufficient to define a NI 43-101 compliant resource. However, current optimism is based on Pamlico's location and previous history. Drilling by previous operators and owners intersected very high-grade mineraliza- tion. One drill hole intersected 4.6 metres grading 239.7 g/t gold, and included 0.8 metres assaying 702.5 g/t gold in an area called the Merritt Zone. But due to the fact that the property had been in private hands since 1898, it remained underex- plored in terms of modern exploration techniques, with no property wide geol- ogy, geochemistry or geophysics. Northern Empire Resources Corp.'s [NM-TSXV, PSPGF-OTC] Sterling Project produced 194,996 ounces of gold between 1980 and 2000 from three separate open pits and two underground mines. That material was extracted from 853,984 tonnes of ore averaging 7.44 g/t gold which was placed on heap leach pads. Northern Empire said it has four major permits required to restart and operate the Sterling Gold Mine. The company is also explor- ing on the Crown Gold Project, a land package that has been consolidated with the Sterling Gold Mine under one owner. The company has said mineralization on the Crown Gold Project follows the same detachment fault structure that hosted Barrick's Bullfrog Mine. Bullfrog produced 2.3 million ounces of gold. NuLegacy Gold Corp. [NUG-TSXV; NULGF-OTCQX], an 11%-owned affili- ate of Barrick Gold Corp., has discovered the Iceberg Carlin-style gold deposits at Redhill, located 100 km southeast of Elko. The company has also identified several more highly prospective exploration tar- gets that are being drilled this year. The Redhill Project is immediately adjacent to Barrick's huge Goldrush gold discovery, also located on the Cortez Gold Trend, an alignment of deposits that ranks among the world's most productive gold mining belts. Heading into 2018, NuLegacy said its main aim is to produce a NI 43-101 com- pliant resource estimate for the property. Pasinex Resources Ltd. [PSE-CSE; PNX-FSE] recently turned its attention to Nevada by entering into an option agree- ment with Cypress Development Corp. [CYP-TSXV] and Silcom Systems Inc. to earn an 80% interest in the Gunman zinc project in White Pine County. Essentially, Pasinex has acquired the option by hon- ouring the terms of Silcom's original option agreement to acquire an 80% interest from Cypress in the project. The deposit style at Gunman is carbonate replacement with central zones of massive, strongly oxi- NEVADA
