[SSL-TSX; SAND- NYSE AMERICAN] made record gold-equivalent production when they sold approximately 54,600 attributable gold equivalent ounces, up from 49,731 ounces in 2016, making it the highest yearly total in company history. Sandstorm is not a mining company per se; the company finances gold mining companies and in return receives the right for a percentage for the gold produced at a mine. The 2017 attributable gold equivalent ounces were generated from 20 streams and royalties, with approximately 80% of the ounces coming from operations run by major and mid-tier mining companies. Royalty streams are flowing in from well-known gold producers such as Yamana Gold, Newmont Mining and Tahoe Resources. Sandstorm also has royalty agreements with many exploration and development stage companies. During Q3 2017, the company posted revenue of $17.9 million with net income of $4.8 million.
