MINING
iMETAL RESOURCES INC. [IMR-TSXV] is
pleased with first pass sample assays from
its 100%-owned, 105 km
2
Gowganda West
Project 17 km west-southwest of the Town
of Gowganda and its historic mining camp
located 90 km southwest of Kirkland Lake
and about 60 km west-northwest of the
famous Cobalt silver camp. Interestingly,
while Kirkland Lake is a gold camp and
Cobalt is a silver-cobalt camp, Gowganda
hosts gold-copper and silver-cobalt min-
eralization – although the past-producing
operations were silver mines.
It may seem odd that the formerly-pro-
ducing Gowganda mining camp was not
explored by the old timers in great detail;
however, it is understandable when one
realizes that the area is extensively covered
by glacial till with not much in the way of
rocky outcrops.
Much mineralization in the Gowganda
camp trends northwest-southeast and
includes the Tahoe Resources Juby deposit
along the Tyrell Structural Zone where the
Main Zone hosts NI 43-101 measured and
indicated resources of 1.09 million ounces
of gold (26.6 million tonnes of 1.28 g/t
gold) and 2.9 million tonnes inferred (96.2
million tonnes of 0.94 g/t gold).
Geology and geophysical surveys have
indicated that the Tyrell Structural Zone
continues onto the Gowganda West prop-
erty with numerous splays off the main
NW/SE structure. iMetal has received
encouraging assays from its Zone 3 along
one of the projected fault-splay north/south
