A P R I L / M A Y 2 0 1 8 www.resourceworld.com 27 SITKA GOLD CORP. [SIG-CSE] was formed in 2015 and listed on the Canadian Securities Exchange in late January 2018. The company raised $1.2 million in its Initial Public Offering on the back of its flagship Adobe gold project in Nevada. The Adobe property is an early stage exploration project near Elko, northeast- ern Nevada that has eyebrow-raising, geological similarities to the major multi- million-ounce Carlin-Type gold deposits in that state. Being successful at raising money on a speculative exploration play speaks volumes about the project's poten- tial and the company's management team. Sitka is lead by a veteran management team that has a proven track record of suc- cess. The team sold its previous venture, Tundra Copper, to Kaizen Discovery in 2014, for a significant return on invest- ment for its shareholders. Boots-on-the-ground expertise is another one of the Sitka's key assets. The com- pany's VP of Exploration, Scott Price, has spent much of his career focused on gold exploration in Nevada, having worked on the discovery and definition teams at the Hollister epithermal deposit and the Mount Hamilton Carlin-type/intrusion related gold deposit. His knowledge of Carlin- Type deposits and detailed fieldwork has identified opportunity where others have overlooked or dismissed it. The Adobe property is located just 60 km northeast of the famous Carlin Trend and lies along a parallel fold structure. Intersecting northwest and northeast fold and fault structures are one of the key features that host Carlin-Type deposits. But this is just the beginning of the simi- larities. The Adobe property encloses an area that hosts The Carlin-5 – a suite of pathfinder elements that are associated with the massive Carlin deposits: arsenic, mercury, antimony, thallium, and sulphur. Features of the Adobe property: • Mercury and gold anomalies on the Adobe property have the highest correlation • Mercury is known to be the primary pathfinder element above blind Carlin- type deposits • Lower Plate carbonate host rock stra- tigraphy is estimated to be less than 500 metres deep on the property • The Carlin mineralizing event occurred 36 to 42 million years ago. The fold struc- tures on the property, which would act as ore fluid traps, were in place no later than 40 million years ago • Intense and pervasive decalcification and silicification in limestones indicating significant hot fluid movement and min- eral replacement • Black mineralized jasperoid development found along fold lines and crests. Jasperoid often associated with Carlin-type deposits • Intersecting NW and NE fold structures as well has high-angle tear faults – Key ore traps and conduits. From a geologist's point of view, these are very provocative geological indicators that beg to be drill tested. Keep in mind, no matter how good the geology looks, you can never guarantee a discovery. From a broker's point of view, we believe the risk of failure is worth the potential reward of discovery. In addition to the Adobe property, Sitka has recently optioned another Carlin- Type property via Scott Price. The Alpha Project lies along the southeast projection of the prolific Cortez Trend in Nevada. Despite having seen less work, it also boasts significant structural and strati- graphic similarities. This project represents another "kick at the can" if results at Adobe are less than stellar. With a market capitalization of just a $3.3 million and $950,000 in its coffers, a quality management and geological team and two very promising properties, we believe Sitka Gold is a good bet. n Stew Vorberg and Doug Wood are Investment Advisors with Mackie Research Capital Corporation (MRCC).
