After com- pleting a feasibility study in June 2010, Detour Gold achieved commercial produc- tion in just over two and one half years – a feat that would be hard to replicate today. Mine life has since been extended to 23 years with an average annual gold produc- tion of 656,000 oz. Permitting is underway for the company's West Detour Project comprising two open pits hosting reserves of 1.8 million oz averaging 0.94 g/t. In early February, Dynasty Gold Corp. [DYG-TSXV; DGDCD-OTC; D5G-FSE] con- cluded an option agreement with Teck Resources Ltd. [TECK.B-TSX; TECK- NYSE] to acquire a 100% interest in the Thundercloud property 47 km southeast of Dryden. The property hosts numerous gold showings, several gold deposits, and historic past producers. Results to date indi- cate excellent bulk-tonnage potential, some of it high-grade. According to Larry Kornze, Vice President of Exploration, "It is an exciting project with high-grade targets as well as bulk tonnage potential. We will be able to build on the good work done by Teck and others as we plan a drill program." First Mining Gold Corp. [FF-TSX; FFMGF-OTCQX; FMG-FSE] has a diversified portfolio of gold projects in North America. These projects host a large resource base of 7M oz gold measured and indicated and 5M oz gold inferred. The company recently initiated the permitting process for its Springpole Project in the Red Lake Mining Camp. The property has large open pit resources including indicated resources of 4,670,000 oz gold and 24,190,000 oz silver along with inferred resources of 230,000 oz gold and 1,120,000 oz silver. Recent results from First Mining's Goldlund Project near Sioux Lookout returned one of the best holes to date: 3.0 metres of 10.76 g/t gold, including 1.0 metre of 30.27 g/t. In addition, four deeper holes demonstrated gold mineralization continues to considerable depths. GFG Resources Inc. [GFG-TSXV; GFGSF-OTCQB] has consolidated a 565 km 2 prospective land package west of Timmins that includes the Pen Gold Project (Rapier Gold), the West Porcupine property (Probe Metals) and the Swayze Project (Osisko Mining). Previous exploration has identi- fied zones of gold mineralization and other targets that will be explored in upcoming exploration programs. Goldcorp Inc. [G-TSX; GG-NYSE] has extensive operations in the Timmins Gold Camp. Approximately 60% of its produc- tion there comes from the Hoyle Pond underground mine, with the remainder originating from the Dome underground mine and the Hollinger open pit mine. Hoyle Pond is now a key asset thanks to the completion of an underground shaft that's made hauling ore more efficient and easier to move people and material to the lower levels of the mine. Goldcorp's Century Project will dou- ble the depth and diameter of the open pit above the Dome underground mine, adding to the company's reserves and allowing for a production increase. The underground Borden Project, situated in Chapleau 160 km west of Goldcorp's Timmins operations, will mine ore to be processed at the company's Porcupine pro- cessing facility, increasing throughput and reducing costs. The Hollinger open pit, less than 2 km from Timmins' downtown core, is being mined out and rehabilitated to transform it from a closed hazardous site into a safe park that is open to the public. Goldcorp's Musselwhite Mine 500 km north of Thunder Bay, has produced over 4 million ounces of gold since achiev- ing commercial production in April 1997. Production there is expected to increase 20% by 2021. Goldcorp's Red Lake opera- tions include the Red Lake and Campbell underground mining and processing com- plexes and Cochenour, a potential new source of ore. GoldOn Resources Ltd.'s [GLD-TSXV; NCMBF-OTC; 6NR-FSE] Slate Falls prop- erty is located between the Red Lake and www.puregoldmining.ca PGM:TSX-V ONTARIO
