A total of 14 holes were drilled last year in the area outlined by Anomaly D. The first assay results were released in November. The first four holes (3,671 metres) inter- sected a disseminated halo of nickel-copper mineralization with credits in palladium, platinum, gold, silver and cobalt. The best interval from this first round of assays was in hole EL-17-04 which averaged 7.2% nickel, 3.4% copper, 0.82 g/t palladium, 0.78 g/t platinum, 0.40 g/t gold, 10 g/t silver and 0.195% cobalt over 4.8 metres. This was intersected at the bottom of a broader 48.2-metre interval starting 108.4 metres down-hole which averaged 1.1% nickel, 0.69% copper, 0.38 g/t palladium, 0.23 g/t platinum, 0.16 g/t gold, 3.1 g/t sil- ver and 0.032% cobalt. Assay results from the company's "discovery hole" were announced in December. Hole EL-17-14 was collared 200 metres east of the historic E&L miner- alization and was drilled towards the east into an area untested by the 1960s Silver Standard drilling. The hole intersected massive sulphide mineralization that averaged 8.3% nickel and 4.2% copper over 16.75 metres within a broader 40.4-metre section averaging 3.9% nickel and 2.3% copper from 100.4 to 140.8 metres down hole (approximate true width). The 16.75-metre massive sulphide intercept also included 6.4 g/t combined platinum-palladium, 0.19% cobalt, 1.1 g/t gold and 11.1 g/t silver. Additional assay results from hole EL-17-09 and 10 also returned excellent results. Hole 10 cut 8.3% nickel, 4.1% copper, 0.19% cobalt, 4.3 g/t palladium, 1.9 g/t platinum, 1.1 g/t gold and 10.2 g/t silver over 10.3 metres (approximate true width). Holes 9 and 10 tested the same target intersected in discovery hole 14 but from a different drill pad. More importantly, however, the com- pany reported that it observed structural features in the rocks (pipe-like struc- Photo courtesy Garibaldi Resources Corp.
