Gren Thomas, commented, "These initial results from the spring drilling campaign are very encouraging and demonstrate higher grade exists at depth, in addition to what's been found on surface. It is now the priority focus at Shovelnose, and we are confident that similar zones of gold mineralization will be found elsewhere within this newly discovered area. A summer drill pro - gram will commence in June." In May 2018, Westhaven increased their strategic holdings in the SBGB and staked an additional 6,167 hectares, Skoonka North, which is inclusive in the 35,363 hectares. The Skoonka North claims are approximately 10 km north of the company's Skoonka property, where past drilling encountered 12.8 metres of 20.2 g/t gold. The newly staked claims have seen limited explora - tion work and have yet to be drill tested. The first target is a prominent, linear topographic feature that extends from the northeast corner of the property to the centre of the claim group, extending north-northeast for 6 km. The target is marked by anomalous stream silts of 383.7 and 131.3 ppb gold at its south end and 53.7 ppb gold at its north end. This corridor has seen limited prospecting. The main anomaly that has received the most work, includ - ing trenching, has returned rock and soil assays of up to 2 g/t gold and 701 ppb gold, respectively. The anomaly has been traced northeast for 260 metres. Trenching has exposed a 55 metre-long, east-trending zone assaying up to 1.44 g/t gold. A third target comprises a northeast-trending corridor containing geochemistry anomalies (soils up to 41.9 ppb gold) and an anomalous silt sample assaying 89.6 ppb gold. Shaun Pollard, CFO, said, "The recent drilling success on the Shovelnose gold project, in addition to the world-class drill intercepts at the Skoonka gold project, continue to validate man - agement's belief that this underexplored, emerging gold belt is highly conducive for further exploration success. Shovelnose was discovered based on a single stream anomaly of 68 parts per billion (ppb) gold. The newly acquired Skoonka North claims have up to 594 ppb gold, including 383 ppb gold and 131 ppb gold in stream anomalies. With this new addition, Westhaven now controls the most highly prospective land package across this belt. We look for - ward to continuing our exploration efforts on the Spences Bridge Gold Belt with the goal of finding multiple economic deposits." Westhaven has a respected team of explorationists with past discovery success which has reason to believe that the SBGB has district-scale potential. In the region there are a number of oper- ating mines such as Teck Resources' Highland Valley Mine, New Gold's New Afton Mine and Copper Mountain's Copper Mountain Mine. As the old mining adage goes, "The best place to find a new mine is beside an old one". n MINING
