MINI NG Shamrock Enterprises testing Fireweed prospect by Patrick Moore There's some that say finding a shamrock, the national emblem of Ireland, is better luck than finding a four-leaf clover. There's always a little magic associated – and if you catch the leprechaun, he might lead you to that pot of gold. Shamrock Enterprises Inc. [SRS-CNSX] is a Vancouver-based junior focused on exploration and development of precious metal properties in politically safe jurisdictions. For Shamrock, that means North America, and specifically British Columbia. Shamrock has an experienced management team, a proven track record at raising money – and what they describe as an "ultra-low burn rate". The company holds an option to acquire up to a 70% interest in eight mineral claims totaling some 2,400 hectares known as the Fireweed property, located on the west side of Babine Lake, in north-central BC. The Fireweed property is 100%-owned by Regulus Resources Ltd. [REG-TSX]. The region has seen active mineral exploration since the turn of the last century with numerous producers. There are plenty of nearby examples such as the Granisle Mine (10 km southeast), Bell Copper Mine (5 km east) both owned by Xstrata and the largest undeveloped molybdenum project in Canada, the Davidson Project owned by Thompson Creek Metals [TCM-TSX] (65 km east). Recently, the Hunter Dickinson Group acquired and staked, through its Amarc Resources [AHR-TSXV], a 450 km2 land package called Silver Vista, 7 km east of Fireweed. One of the most significant producers was the Equity Silver Mine at Goosly Lake with mineralization similar to Fireweed. The Fireweed deposit is a polymetallic (sil- ver, zinc, lead, copper and gold) discovery of massive sulphide and disseminated sulphide replacement-type mineralization. The main mineralized horizon covers more than 5 km of strike length, 50 to 100+ metres of stratigraphy, and 100+ metres of down-dip extent. The property has all-weather road access, allowing year round work. Approximately $4 million has been spent on exploration to date, including some 70,000 feet of diamond drilling. In 2011, the drilling was designed to test the area of mineralization indicated by historical drilling in 1988 and 1989 that demonstarted significant lead, zinc and silver mineralization. Highlights of the 2011 drill program include 15.1 metres of 444.4 g/t silver, 15.6 metres of 374.7 g/t silver and 20.3 metres of 202.8 g/t silver, 0.2 g/t gold, 1.7% lead and 3.6% zinc.
