If all goes according to plan, Alexco expects to produce 4.1 million ounces of silver annually in the first three years after re- negotiating a silver streaming agreement with one of its key financial backers, Wheaton Precious Metals Corp. [WPM- TSX, NYSE]. The deal aims to eliminate some of the downside risk associated with the project. Apex Resources Inc. [APX-TSXV; SLMLF-OTC] has received a Class 3 min- ing land-use permit for its road-accessible Mount Anderson gold-silver property 55 km south of Whitehorse. The property is adjacent to the historical high-grade Mount Skukum gold mine. A 2017 map- ping and sampling program confirmed the presence of significant precious metal and base metal mineralization. Apex will test targets defined by 2018 mapping and geophysics with diamond drilling and trenching. Banyan Gold Co. [BYN-TSXV] has raised funds for summer exploration at the Hyland and McQuesten projects. The Hyland main zone hosts a NI 43-101-com- pliant indicated resource of roughly 236,000 ounces plus 288,000 ounces inferred. Banyan can earn a 100% inter- est in 9,230 hectares of contiguous ground known as the Aurex-McQuestern claims from Victoria Gold Corp. and Alexco Resources Corp. Goldcorp Inc.'s [G-TSX, GG-NYSE] Coffee gold project is another property widely touted as a probable near-term producer. Goldcorp acquired the Coffee Project by snapping up Kaminak Gold in a $520 million share exchange deal in May 2016. Coffee is a high-grade potential open pit and heap leach development project that could grow into a large district-scale operation. Located about 130 km south of Dawson, the property is accessed by the Yukon River, helicopter or airplane. It includes a barge landing site, airstrip and camp that are connected by a 23-km all- season road. Goldcorp has said the project is a key part of its plan to increase produc- tion by 20% by 2021. K2 Gold Corp. [KTO-TSXV], a com- pany headed by former management of Kaminak, is focused on its flagship Wels property which hosts an orogenic-style gold deposit likely similar to the Coffee Project. In 2017, prospecting identified additional gold targets, hosted in different rock types, thereby increasing the poten- tial for a district-scale, robust mineralizing system. Golden Predator Mining Corp. [GPY- TSXV] is a well-funded gold exploration company working on the Three Aces Project northeast of Watson Lake. The company is currently benefitting from construction of infrastructure – includ- ing a bridge over the Little Hyland River, which allowed it to expand exploration on a number of high-grade gold zones.
