with 75% ultimate recovery and 14-year
mine life. In Wyoming, the company's
uranium projects include the Aladdin, the
Dewey Terrace and the Savageton.
In February of 2014, Powertech
announced a merger with Azarga
Resources Ltd.; the resulting entity will be
named Azarga Uranium Corp.
Purepoint Uranium Group Inc.
[PTU-TSXV] has several projects in the
Athabasca Basin: Red Willow, Smart
Lake, Hook Lake, Turnor Lake, Henday
Block, Umfreville, Red Willow North,
McArthur East, and Forsythe. Drilling
is underway at Hook Lake (21% owned
by Purepoint/partner with Cameco and
AREVA). Purepoint is also drilling at Smart
Lake (23% owned by operator Purepoint/
JV with Cameco) and at the Red Willow
(100%-owned, optioned to Rio Tinto).
Skyharbour Resources Ltd. [SYH-
TSXV] is a member of the Western
Athabasca Syndicate currently drilling in
the Athabasca Basin. Skyharbour also has
the Mann Lake (60%) uranium project in
the basin.
The Western Athabasca Syndicate is a
partnership among Skyharbour Resources
Ltd., Athabasca Nuclear Corp., Lucky
Strike Resources Ltd., and Noka
Resources Inc. to explore and develop a
287,130-hectare suite of uranium proper-
ties along the prospective margin of the
Western Athabasca Basin. Under the terms
of the agreement, each of the four com-
panies has an option to earn 25% in five
uranium properties: Preston Lake, North
Patterson, RY, South Basin, and Wheeler.
The syndicate has drilled five holes (986
metres) with three to four additional holes
planned. The syndicate reported April
15, 2014 that "All five of the holes inter-
sected a broad, hydrothermally altered and
reactivated, structural zone. Three holes
returned elevated radioactivity." The goal
of the Syndicate is to explore and develop
this largely unexplored uranium property
package in the basin with plans to spend
at least $6 million on exploration over the
next two years.
