The company is contemplating a continuous surface mining scenario at its Laguna Salada deposit in Argentina. U 3 O 8 is expecting to soon have a PEA completed on the project. On February 14, 2013, U 3 O 8 announced that it filed a positive PEA on its Berlin uranium project in Colombia. UEX Corp. [UEX-TSX] is involved in 15 uranium projects either 100%-owned or joint ventured in the Athabasca Basin. UEX announced, on April 2, 2014, drill results from the first six holes completed on the Black Lake Project in the basin. Drilling encountered uranium intersec- tions of 0.131% U 3 O 8 over 0.5 metres and 0.124% U 3 O 8 over 1.0 metre. Uracan Resources is earning a 60% interest in the project by spending $10 million on exploration over the next 10 years. UEX is responsible for funding $982,000 of the $2 million 2014 exploration program at its Western Athabasca projects. The budget will be directed toward exploration of the Laurie, Mirror River and Erica Projects. Unity Energy Corp.'s [UTY-TSXV] flagship uranium properties are the Waterbury Lake Project and the McKenzie Lake Project in the Athabasca Basin. Also in the basin, Unity's portfolio includes: Thorburn Lake, Kirkpatrick Lake, Close Lake, Lampin Lake, Hoppy Lake, Dickens Lake, Mitchell Lake and the North Shea Project. On April 17, 2014 Unity signed an option agreement to earn a 100% interest in the Camsell uranium property. Ur-Energy Inc. [URE-TSX; URG-NYSE- MKT] produces uranium at the Lost Creek, in-situ recovery uranium facility, in south- central Wyoming. Ur-Energy reported that "during 2013, 190,365 pounds of U 3 O 8 were recovered at the Lost Creek plant. Of those, 131,216 pounds were packaged in drums and 94,827 pounds of the drummed inventory were shipped to the conversion facility." Ur-Energy also has the Screech Lake property in Canada's NWT. Uranez Energy Corp. [URZ-TSX, NYSE-MKT; U9E-FSE] began in-situ recov- ery uranium mining on April 15, 2014 at its first ISR mine in the Powder River Basin of Wyoming. The company has signed a signed, toll processing agreement with Cameco and long-term off-take agree- ments with two major US-based nuclear operators. Uranez controls a large land position in the central Powder River Basin of Wyoming, an area that hosts uranium- mineralized roll fronts often amenable to ISR mining techniques and continues to expand resources through drilling and/or acquisitions. Uranium Energy Corp. [UEC-NYSE- MKT; U6Z-FSE] has a large portfolio of uranium projects in the US (Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas) and two projects in Paraguay. Uranium Energy's producing Palangana Mine and its Hobson processing plant are located in Texas. Also in Texas is their fully permitted Goliad development project where construction is underway. On April 22, 2014, Uranium Energy reported a positive preliminary economic assessment on their Slick Rock Project in Colorado. Uranium One Inc. [UUU-TSX; Jo'burg], one of the world's largest producers, oper- ates eight mines in three countries (the US, Kazakhstan and Australia). Uranium One is the operator of the Mkuju River devel- opment project in Tanzania. The Mkuju River Project is owned by Mantra Tanzania Limited. Uranium One is a wholly-owned subsidiary of JSC Atomredmetzoloto, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rosatom, the Russian State Corporation for Nuclear Energy. Uravan Minerals Inc. [UVN-TSXV] is focused on uranium exploration in the Athabasca Basin with several projects there: Halliday, Stewardson, Mathison, Outer Ring, Johansson and Rottenstone. Uravan also has the Gary Lake Project in the Thelon Basin, NWT. All projects are drill ready except for the Johansson proj- ect. Uravan is developing new exploration technologies to explore under-explored terrain. Zadar Ventures Ltd. [ZAD-TSXV] holds the PNE, BullRunB, BullRunE, BullRunC, and the Upper Poulton claims in the Athabasca Basin. Zadar has an option to acquire interests in the Pasfield Lake Project and the West Carswell Project (100%), the Stony Road Project (60%), the Riverlake and Highrock Projects (51%) in the basin. Zadar's Whiskey Gap Project is in Alberta near the US border.
