Goldcorp's participation at the conference this year was positive confir- mation that the years of exploration and investment will result in development and ultimately production for Yukon's tena- cious mining projects. Generally, it was a little easier this year for companies to raise money for explora- tion and, depending on the results, those projects will be pushed a little farther down the road towards development. The follow- ing updates are on companies that attended the Yukon Mining Investment Conference. Alexco Resource Corp. [AXR-TSX] owns the Yukon's historic Keno Hill Silver District, one of the world's highest-grade silver districts. Between 1913 and 1989 the Keno Hill Silver District produced more than 217 million ounces of silver. Keno Hill, 330 km north of Whitehorse, is home to the Bellekeno silver mine where Alexco suspended operations to reposition the dis- trict for long-term, sustainable operations. Summer drilling at Keno Hill has expanded the Bermingham deposit. Highlights include a recent intercept of 7.5 metres true width of 2,715 g/t (87.3 oz/t) silver including 2.4 metres (true width) of 6,391 g/t (205.5 oz/t) silver from hole K-16-0608. Alexco CEO, Clynt Nauman, commented, "Early results from the 2016 exploration program underscore the mate- riality and importance of this discovery to the future of Keno Hill". Atac Resources Ltd.'s [ATC-TSXV] 100%-owned Rackla gold project, 55 km northeast of Keno City in Central Yukon, is 1,700 km 2 and hosts two distinct trends: Rau and Nadaleen. ATAC discovered Canada's first Carlin-type gold discoveries within the Nadaleen Trend in 2010. Since then drilling has confirmed five zones of Carlin-type gold mineralization and numerous exploration targets. Recent drill results from the Orion Zone in the Nadaleen Trend include drill hole AN-16-010 which intersected 61.29 m of 2.75 g/t gold and successfully twinned and extended the 2015 Rotary Air Blast Orion discovery hole (ARB-15-026) which inter- sected 47.24 m of 3.79 g/t. These results confirm significant gold exploration potential exists within the Anubis Fault corridor. Banyon Gold Corp. [BYN-TSXV] made news this spring when they were the first mining company to offer securities on the inaugural online mining investment plat- form created by Red Cloud Klondike Strike. This August, Banyon announced the release of a NI 43-101 Technical Report on their flagship Hyland gold prop- erty located approximately 70 km NE of Watson Lake along the southeast end of the Tintina Gold Belt. The Main Zone gold inferred resource, at a 0.6 g/t gold equivalent cutoff, hosts a NI 43-101 compliant resource of 12,503,994 tonnes containing 361,692 ounces gold at 0.9 g/t and 2,248,948 ounces silver at 5.59 g/t for a combined gold and silver 396,468 ounces gold equivalent. On July 19, 2016 Goldcorp Inc. [G-TSX; GG-NYSE] announced the completion of the acquisition of Kaminak Gold Corp. Goldcorp's, David Garofalo, President and CEO said, "with a large, geologically pro- spective land package in a mining friendly jurisdiction, the Coffee Project has the potential to grow into a camp to deliver long-term significant sustainable value for our partners and stakeholders". Stakeholder Gold Corp. [SRC-TSXV] has completed Phase I exploration on the Ballarat property, 120 km southeast of Dawson City. The program, executed and managed by GroundTruth Exploration Inc., consisted of soil sampling, sub soil rock sampling and DC IP/resistivity. Results have significantly enlarged the Eastern zone target area. Two float rock samples from the Eastern zone yielded values of 0.759 g/t and 0.587 g/t gold. A grab sample taken from a trench at the Northwest zone, ran 1.492 g/t Au. Geophysical and GT Probe surveying is planned for the newly expanded Eastern zone anomaly to be followed by rotary air blast drilling at both the Northwest and Eastern zones. John Nebocat, VP of Exploration, states, "The dispersion of the gold-in-soil anomalies (Eastern Zone) suggests that a possible widespread mineralized body may exist here."
