This summer Golden Predator Mining Corp. [GPY-TSXV] poured a doré bar which contained 81.408 troy ounces of fine gold and 7.771 troy ounces of silver which they sold for a net of CDN $139,062.45. The gold came from a bulk sample from the company's 3 Aces Project; 79.70 dry tonnes from a stockpile of ~ 750 tonnes of material were processed. The company reports that 11 new min- eralized veins have been discovered since the August 1, 2016 exploration started and at least five of those have visible gold. Ongoing trenching is being conducted in advance of Q4-2015 drilling. (See RW Aug. Sept. issue for article on GPY) This summer, Independence Gold Corp. [IGO-TSXV] completed the reverse circulation drill program on its Boulevard Project, in the White Gold District. A total of 2,946 metres in 30 holes were drilled at four main targets: Denali, Sunset, Sunrise and the newly discovered Kahiltna anom- aly. Drilling along trend from previously discovered gold intercepts tested potential parallel zones to expand areas of miner- alization and new zones within robust multi-element soil anomalies. Recently, Goldcorp acquired a 19.9% interest in Independence Gold whose Boulevard Project shares a border with Goldcorp's recently acquired Coffee Project. Independence is also drilling up to 1,500 metres at its Rosebud Project, 58 km south of Dawson to test the relationship between gold mineralization and east-west trending structures at the Hudbay Zone which hosts three, north trending gold-in- soil anomalies. Northern Freegold Ltd. [NFR-TSXV] has completed their summer exploration program at their road accessible Freegold Mountain gold-copper project, 200 km northwest of Whitehorse. A 70-line km magnetic and VLF-EM geophysical survey as well as a ~10-line km of multi-element geochemical soil survey were done at the Tinta Hill deposit. Exploration crews spent roughly three weeks in the field conducting geological mapping and re-logging select drill core at the Nucleus and Revenue deposits. Information will be used to guide future drill programs, which will target higher- grade mineralized zones. Summer exploration at Rockhaven Resources Ltd.'s [RK-TSXV] Klaza gold- silver property in the Dawson Range Gold Belt yielded excellent results. A new gold zone, the Stroshein Zone, was dis- covered and in September, the company announced the discovery of a new, near- surface, gold-rich, vein zone containing three veins – the Rex Zone. 2016 drilling focused on better defining and expanding near surface mineralization adjacent to open pits and declines pro- posed in a March 2016 PEA. Highlights include:17.01 g/t gold and 121 g/t silver over 4.32 m – Hole 317; 3.48 g/t gold and 88.4 g/t silver over 8.09 m – Hole 318;10.25 g/t gold and 52.9 g/t silver over 2.46 m – Hole 337; 6.61 g/t gold and 74.7 g/t silver over 2.45 m – Hole 338. The property is road accessible and as Matthew Turner, President and CEO of Rockhaven, likes to say, "You can drive car from Whitehorse to this +million ounce gold deposit". Strategic Minerals Ltd.'s [SMD-TSXV] summer 2016 exploration programs, designed to assess 2015 discoveries, have returned some excellent results. With over 100 projects, the company is a project gen- erator and the largest claim holder in Yukon. Highlights from this summer's explora- tion include high-grade assays from its Hartless Joe property 28 km east-northeast of Whitehorse in southern Yukon where chip samples collected earlier this summer graded 44.3 g/t gold across 2.10 m and 462 g/t gold across 0.4 m. Phase II drilling has started at Hartless Joe. The Hopper (southwestern Yukon) and the Mars (40 km north of the Hartless Joe) properties are also part of the Phase II pro-
