Exploring TURKEY through open-pit mining. Meta Nikel Kobalt A.Š. is exploring for nickel and cobalt deposits. The company operates two nickel mines located in Gördes–Manisa and Yunusemre–Eskišehir. In addition, several exploration activities are continuing in different regions. Nuinsco Resources Ltd. [NWI-TSX] has a 36% interest (Xstrata PLC 64%) in the Berta copper-gold-molybdenum exploration project 50 km south of the Black Sea in northeast Turkey. The Berta porphyry is reported to cover 15 km2. Drilling has returned 710.9 metres of 0.28% copper and 0.07 g/t gold. Pasinex Resources Ltd. [PSE-CNSX], which has been assisted by Zimtu Capital, has 15 properties (five projects) in Turkey, two of which are its current focus; the Golcuk copper-silver project and the Horzum zinc project, a JV with Akmetal AS, a major Turkish chromium producer. Located in Sivas province, the Golcuk Project has been optioned from Eurasian Minerals. Golcuk targets have been identified with drilling planned for early 2013. At the Horzum zinc project, a past-producing zinc mine, mapping and sampling are under way in preparation for drilling in the New Year. Pilot Gold Inc. [PLG-TSX] reported assays from eight new diamond drill holes from the 2012 program at the TV Tower Project continue to return long intervals of gold, silver and copper mineralization with areas of exceptionally high grades. Drill hole KCD-50 highlights the third consecutive set of strong assay results at the Kucukdag (KCD) target, returning 193 g/t gold, 9.8 g/t silver and 0.46% copper over 12.0 metres. Visible gold was confirmed in several veins within this interval. TV Tower is a joint venture between Pilot Gold (40%) and Teck Resources (60%). Pilot Gold is project operator and can increase its interest in the project to 60%, through funding of exploration over three years. Red Crescent Resources Ltd.
